1967 was a good year though. The debut albums from the Doors and Jimi Hendrix still stand out as classics some 57 years later. Wow, that does sound like a long time, doesn't it?

Edit-- Sgt. Pepper album was the same year--outstanding.

As a side note--Leafs won the cup that spring with a bunch of guys who were in their last hockey moments--- because the Canadiens were dismissive of them and forgot to show up for the series. Not much has happened since then.

What - no love for J Airplane / SS? JK!

My recollection is that I started to comprehend what I was watching when I was about 5 in 1970. Huge Hab fan cause my 6 older sibs and parents were al TO fans. Lately I'm convinced that the cups Toronto won in the 60's, or at least the 67 cup, was because Montreal let them!

When you read up on that 1967 series you realize that there were a lot of older guys on both clubs.

Montreal retooled in the next few years--adding the Mahovlich brothers, Mickey Redmond, Marc Tardif. Jacque Lemaire, Guy Lapointe and Ken Dryden. In 1970 the Canadiens also drafted a guy named Guy Lafleur. It set the stage for a great decade.

The Leafs, in contrast, never accumulated the same restocking and depth in the roster.

Watch some of that old footage from 1967 and it looks like smurfs compared to today's players. Look at the stats in that series and there were all kinds of guys who were less than 5 foot 10 inches and 170 pounds.

Hard to imagine those clubs playing against the NFL sized las Vegas Golden Knights of today.

If there's a possibility for it, I'd 1000% welcome a Cogliano return tour.

He's been an excellent defensive forward in this series against Winnipeg, and has been an absolute foot soldier for their penalty kill

The gentleman who tunes my daughter’s piano played keyboard for the Doors opening act at the Whiskey a Go Go.

In unrelated news I had my luckiest pregame meal - tuna tartare followed by prime ribs and garlic mashed at the Keg. All is right in the world.

10:30 in the east.
Will 100% compromise, and go to work tired!
You don’t live in the East😉. Its 1130 in the East.

10:50 in the East. 11:50 in ATL, and thats if puck dropped happens as scheduled which it wont. Most likely, midnight in ATL, and 12:30AM tomorrow morning in Newfoundland. Pretty cool of the NHL scheduling to make this game harder for Canadians to watch than the Mongolian Falconry Finals on ESPN7.

Mongolian Falconry sounds like it could be the name of a finishing move in pro wrestling

Oilers played a very mature game on Friday and I can see the same happening tonight. Refs did well to contain the stupidity from the kings so hopefully that continues as well.

Oilers are by far the better team, they just need to play that way for 60 minutes. They will do so again tonight and this will be a huge boost going forward through these playoffs.

Oilers will win this game.

ever think of Porn? Great benefits, medical and dental, and I hear the employees are easy to get along with. If you can bend your legs like that, there is a great future for you in porn. Just tell the wife that you are a family man and will do anything for your family to get a head,. Literally
