There's no way to calculate something as complicated as "who deserves to win", not to mention that it's completely subjective. The site does have real stats as well so I wouldn't disregard all of it.

At the very least it shouldn't be subjective. It's based entirely off some model they use with objective data.

Sounds to me like their model is flawed, because there shouldn't be that much variance. There shouldn't be an expectation of a high degree of accuracy, but it shouldn't vary that much every time you run the sim.

The problem is it taints how their other models are viewed. It's hard to know if just the deerve to win meter is flawed or not.

Their stats by themselves may be ok, but I also feel like I've seen a discrepancy on some of the same stats between them and Natural Stat Trick, which seems more reliable.

You changed your Capitals prediction? I thought you hated them? I don't think you are entirely wrong. I feel like teams going into the playoffs cold never get anywhere. However, Habs are an awful road team and that should play in Washington's favour for the series.

The LA Kings have only lost 5 regulation games at home...the entire season. Besides McDrai, how will Edmonton be able to overcome that? Plus it's hard to beat the same damn team in the playoffs for a fourth straight season. I just can't see it, especially considering how bad the Oilers' defence and goaltending have been this year. Hard to see how they magically turn it on.

And yes, the Jets are losing to the Blues in the first round. That is as much of a certainty at this point.
I changed it simply due to how Montreal has looked the last month. It's been awful and they were VERY lucky to secure a playoff spot. I think the Caps steamroll them.

The Kings have had zero answer for the Oilers over three seasons. IIRC the Oilers PP is running at something stupid like 37% over the three playoff series' no matter how good the Kings PK is during the regular season. They have no answer for McDavid/Draisaitl, rest of the Oilers being trash be damned. Until proven otherwise, take the Oilers.

Someone picked Caps in 4 or Montreal in 7 and I kinda agree with that.

I'd have picked CBJ over the Caps but Montreal looked out of gas for too long.

Nelson/Nuke hasn't really worked, not sure why Bednar keeps insisting on doing that.

It worked their first game I believe. I think he's hoping for that, but Nelson was hitting people on occasion and had an extra jump.

NYI fans warned us that wasn't normal. Maybe it will be more normal in the playoffs?

I think the big one for me as others have said is no Nuke & Lehky together.

My dream of having three lines with one of Nuke, Lehky, or Landy on each is still alive. Now we have a Coyle though too. JTC wishes he was as good all around as Coyle is.

 I saw a Stars fan claim DeBoer didn't rest a single player, yet here he is trying to make people think he did. Guy must be a textbook narcissist.

My guess is DeBoer wanted to try to get a win going into the playoffs for a bit of a boost...then proceeded to get throttled by the Preds and lost one of their top forwards in the process.

It was just a dumb move by DeBoer and just hurt his own team if Robertson is out for more than a game or 2. Hate seeing guys get hurt around playoff time regardless of if they're our opponent or not.

I quite enjoyed Trashbin's downfall..

If we play STL he's getting Miles of Wood the first game.

Some are just stupid.

#RaiseUp = Hurricanes? Why?

#TimeToHunt = Florida? Laaaame.
Was thinking the same. I think maybe the Canes is supposed to have something to do with the Hurricane warning flag.

But I feel the dumbest has to be VegasBorn.

Like what percentage of the team is actually Vegas born? or the coaches, or even the fanbase.
