I thought it was in Prague for sure. I'll be heading over there in 2020 with a few buddies, I believe. It's probably way less expensive than going here in Canada.

Expense is similar but the experience is much better.

A very reliable source told me today that there is a real chance that WJC 2020 will be in Ostrava and Trinec.

Trinec has a new hockey arena (one of the most modern in the Europe) however with capacity of less than 5 thousand people. The semi-finals and medal games would be held in Ostrava.

CONFIRMED! WJC 2020 will be in Ostrava and Trinec (don't forget where did you see it for the first time)

Is not it 5.200 full attendance ?

Yes, full attendance is 5.200 but it never happens because the highest seats are bounded ant it belongs to VIP guests who are usually in sky-boxes or on the bar, so there are always about cca 300 free seats.

It's unusual that the new arena has a less attendance then a old one (which had a 5 400). However, it's a special arena and it's always better to play in a smaller but full arena, than in a big empty one (like O2 arena with capacity of 18 000 but average attendance about 8 000)

Finland is the only European country where the tournament has drawn well. Although I can see it becoming more popular in Sweden if they host again.

Ostrava is one the most ugliest cities in central Europe.
That might just be an impression of a local person who finds it dull, steel towns certainly have their own appeal in Europe where an industry is mostly dead. Those steel mills or whatever they are I saw googling Ostrava seem way more interesting than churches and whatnot you see in every city.
