Very true. I think unless it is a brinksmanship type of ploy to confuse the other side, or unless he is flat out lying to conceal that there will be no changes, and try to get Dallas to put forth change in their line up in response - there are only so many ways "significant changes" would signal. It is pretty clear McDavid, Draisaitl, Bouchard, Hyman, Ekholm, and Nugent Hopkins will not be benched. So what are the other possibilities that would qualify as "significant"? Bench Kane? Perry? Ceci? It's gotta be Nurse for sure, given his exorbitant salary. Skinner also let in that squeaker Robertson goal and while one could say that well, Robertson was whacking away and any other goalie would have eventually succumbed and let in a wonky goal - the whole playoff performance of Skinner has been too inconsistent to trust him in the most pivotal game. Which Stuart Skinner will show up? Hard to say.

If he honestly believes this, then I weep for Oilers fans.

Dallas has already come out and said the only change they're making from Game 3 is swapping out Smith for Faksa.

That's it.

Knoblauch trying to play mind games with DeBoer is like.....well, like me trying to play mind games with DeBoer. It's just not going to work.

Must win game for the Oilers, “win or bust”. 😉

Stars are playing very well and have been the better team in this series. Even if they fall behind again they will ooze with confidence that they can come back, as they have already proven.

To have a chance at tying the series tonight the Oilers need to play a full 60 (or more), get at least average goaltending and be better on the PP. Why do the Oilers feel they always have to play their opponents game? I get it that sometimes the other team is playing so well that you don’t have a choice… which has been evident through much of this series. The Stars have coyly not played a physical game and the Oilers have matched that physical intensity… or rather, lack thereof. Skate hard, forecheck, be physical and try to push the play at all times - let’s see how that plays out.

It’s game 4 tonight, but if Oilers lose, it’s game fore.

Knoblauch really doesn’t have a lot of options. It’s not like he has some great players sitting in reserve that he can plug in and he doesn’t really have the option of even benching Nurse as he has no one to play those minutes.
Short of removing Skinner any changes will be minor at best. I doubt Dallas cares one way or another.

Could definitely see the Oilers wising up and making both of those moves......but why be cryptic about it? The entire hockey world's spent the last 48 hours or so, telling Knoblauch that Nurse is an absolute dumpster fire and should sit, and still we're seeing the Oilers coach act all coy like it's some big secret.
They’re not sitting Nurse, unless he’s injured.

Desharnais will come out in favor for Broberg, he and Kulak will play bottom pairing. Kulak will play his weak side, which could prove interesting - as he struggles when they’ve played him there before.

I don’t mind putting Perry and McLeod in, as fresh legs, but I sure as hell wouldn’t be pulling out Foegele - again, unless he’s injured. I would be pulling out Carrick and maybe Ryan.

Oilers will be nuked tonight. My buddies and I have drinking game. Everytime an oiler fan Complains about getting a power play. We take a shot of Sambuka.

Yes, the Oilers fans are the only fan base who complain about officiating. It’s been 2 weeks and the Canucks fans are still whining about a missed “suspendable” high stick…. that is weak.

The Oilers have 3 wins, 2 losses in their past 5 games, against the 1st and 3rd ranked teams in the conference… and have a total ZERO power play goals. PPs help but not scoring on their PPs is not the reason they lost their last 2 games.

These antiquated comments/opinions are such a pathetic attempt at trolling.

That’s serendipitous.

My buddies have a drinking game that every time a non-oiler fan complains about an oilers fan complaining about getting a power play we drink. I will bet a shot that I’m more drunk than you.

  • Projected lineups based on last game. Coach Knoblach states there will be lineup changes but will not reveal them.

  • Alright well I accidentally posted this so we're going with the title. This game is alot like Oregon Trail, that game I used to play on the really old Macs in elementary. The Oilers have a decision to make. They can forge ahead on this journey, battle the current against them, and ford the river. Or they can die of dysentery. We wait.

  • Just win.

Just stopping by to thank the OP for including the prior games' highlights. As a hockey fan from beyond North America, time zones are a barrier to watching live on many occassions. Cheers.

Nurse & Ceci have been soo bad that we had no choice but to split up a really solid Kulak - Desharnais pairing. Ceci has looked better with Kulak than he looked with Nurse. Nurse looks just as bad with Desharnais as he was with Ceci, so the solution is healthy scratch one of the Dmen who haven't been the problem in the first place?

This team. I'm not saying I expected them to healthy scratch Nurse but out of the current D's actual play, it F'N the well should be him. Kulak has played the least mins on D out of the 6 while least to me being the 3rd most impactful guy behind Ekholm/Bouchard so I guess I should just be glad they didn't pull Kulak out.

I guess if Kulak made Desharnais and Ceci both look better, going all in on hoping he does the same for Nurse. Someone has too.

Most the season I felt we had 3 Good D - Ek, Nurse and Bouch and 3 good bottom pair (eg. only need 2) D in Ceci, Kulak and VD.

Now we have 2 good D - Bouch and Ek

and are rotating about 5 guys in what is now being called a 'bottom 4'.lmao

I get Nurse falling off a cliff was hard to see coming but why are we pretending that Bro, Ceci, Kulak or VD are Top 4 options? Oh wait 'middle 2' options.lol

Teams up 3-1 win the series 91% of the time.

Just about a must-win for Edmonton.

Dallas is 14-2 in their last 16 game 4s.

Edmonton is 5-6 in game 4s during the McDavid era. All 5 of those wins came in the last three playoff runs.
