Full quote from Toews, per the mayor:

"Q. On that note, that hit late in the game [ed. note: including an alleged elbow to the throat], because it was so late by Dustin Brown, any other effects? Did you have any issues with that hit on you?

“I don’t really know how late it was.”

Q. Final minute.

“Yeah, yeah, but we know that he’s going to be looking for stuff like that. Just got to be aware of it. I think they were maybe a little frustrated we were moving the puck around the outside without even two minutes left to go in the game, just trying to kill time on the power-play. I kind of expect him to do something like that. We have to be aware of what they’re going to try and be physical on us.”

Projected Lines – Los Angeles

Dustin Brown – Anze Kopitar – Justin Williams
Dustin Penner – Mike Richards – Jeff Carter
Dwight King – Jarret Stoll – Trevor Lewis
Kyle Clifford – Brad Richardson – Tyler Toffoli

Robyn Regehr – Drew Doughty
Rob Scuderi – Slava Voynov
Jake Muzzin – Matt Greene

Jonathan Quick
Jonathan Bernier

-This is a challenge considering the Kings didn’t hold a morning skate, Darryl Sutter wasn’t available to the media and Mike Richards took a hit to the head late in Game 1 that may affect his Game 2 status. Consider this a rough draft; more could be learned following Sutter’s 4:00 pm media availability. I’m banking on Richards playing and the top two lines staying the same. If he is unable to go, expect Jeff Carter to shift to center and Tyler Toffoli to skate opposite Dustin Penner. Assuming Richards is fine – he turned down an interview request in the locker room last night – the only change I see coming would be Tyler Toffoli’s inclusion in the lineup as the Kings are currently starved for offense. Toffoli is most useful on the right side, and I’d bank on Richardson shifting to center and Colin Fraser dropping out of the lineup to accommodate him.

with an obviously below par performance by the Kings...they still could have stole game one.

they do need a much better upgrade in their intensity. get 3 goals Kings and pls help Quick out. It will also helps the boards out here from the sky from falling :)

Lame. Worse, it's an transparent attempt to work the refs and gain an edge not otherwise available on the ice. You don't see a class organization such as the Kings' org stooping to such silliness.

Kinda true. Worked against the Kings last round when Quick got the 'diving' call Galiardi had been working the press for.

Then again, I don't think the refs are that easily influenced, since their in-game consistency is nonexistent anyway....I doubt they buy outside factors at all. Those calls on Penner last game were pretty ticky-tack when you consider nothing on Bolland, followed by a trip on Carter, followed by Kane waterskiing Brown around our net when we were already shorthanded with no call...it's disgusting (again, disclaimer--we lost that game on our own--just marveling at the reffing).

Hoping the guys show up pissed and with that 'win' gear. The only game I still feel comfortable saying was a good effort was that game 5 vs. the sharks where we just started smashing everything in sight. Guys are 'checking,' sure, but there's no bite to it.

Sutter and some of the Kings are (for the last 15 min) at a media scrum.

Richards is fine (thank God)

Pierre LeBrun ‏@Real_ESPNLeBrun 5m
Kings coach Darryl Sutter says Mike Richards is fine. Didn't want to further discuss the hit

And if the players take their lead from him, they won't discuss it either. End up sounding like whiners, like Toews and some of the Hawks did on the Brown hit.

Hopefully special Jake is scratched, **** who am I kidding, Sutter loves him.

The Kings have lost how many 2-1 games on the road?

Defensemen are not the problem. Besides with the rate at which the forwards are scoring, the Kings need as many offensive minded defensemen on the ice as they can get. I wouldn't mind seeing 7-defenseman in the lineup even to get an extra offensive pairing out there once in a while.

Say,

Doughty - Muzzin
Voynov - Martinez

at certain times of the game.

The problem with Muzzin lately is not his defensive game its his role as one of our puck moving offensive deffensman. A good tape to tape pass from a defenseman can start the breakout. Muzzin can't pass and on the powerplay although his shot is strong it always goes way wide. Martinez is better at psssing and keeping shots on net. #FreeMartinez

The Kings have been the lowest scoring team in the playoffs this season. They're a "damn good team" mainly because of Quick. Take Quick out of the equation, and Chicago would be playing SJ now.

This is an idiotic post. First of all you have no way of knowing that and secondly it didnt happen so why even bring it up. I hate posts like this, they really are a "last grasp" for fans who know little about hockey. At least that is the impression I get.

The Kings have scored the least amount of goals through 14 games in NHL history (27). Kopitar has 2 goals in 30 games. Ridiculous.

No lineup changes expected, **** me.

That last picture of Martinez. Yes please.

Nothing better than a picture of the Stanley Cup with a shirtless Kings player. Thank you.

Is it me or does the general sports media just simply ask the dumbest questions? Check out the conference with the media from this morning:

What type of response are these fools expecting when you ask a coach about his team's confidence? Does he expect to say that he's not confident at all? Goes to show you how prepared some of these reporters are with their dumbass questions.
