Kronblom,
I think Jörgen Jönsson had a strong game. Höglund was good the first 2 periods.

Lidström was awful, -4 today.

He needs to go after yet another failed mission

He improved his "average" a little with this Silver

But he needs to go he dont have the Charisma to become a winner. Sweden have had enough suffering under this coach.

He ranked tied for 2nd worst among ALL alltime head coaches in Sweden prior to this tournament. And after all these years still no Gold in any championship, he NEEDS to go.

There comes a time when you just have to do it and he have been given too many chances. Sweden needs him gone so we can get a win sometime before NASA starts a mission to Pluto

Agree, Salomonsson played well also occasionally. But I´m still upset...

Too bad for Henke for letting in 5 goals in the final game.

Agreed. He had an excellent tournament. I only think he is to blame for one of the 5 goals tonight though, but honesly I can't remember the last time the Swedish defense was this brutal. The strange thing is that this d is really strong on the paper and played well until Lidström joined.
Perhaps I am the only one, but I actually think Lidström saw too much ice-time in the two games.

Congratulations Canada! The better team won this game for sure.

Swedes have a lot to learn from the North American teams and their 'never surrender' attitude. Swedes simply can't play with the lead. It seems as soon as they run into any kind of resistance, the very second they come under prolonged pressure by opposing forwards -- they buckle, they succumb, they simply vanish. These are Stanley Cup champions, Olympic gold medalists, the elite of the elite in the world, and yet at the slightest sign of increased effort from the opposition, they prostrate themselves like a bunch of 5-dollar hookers on pay day.

Disgraceful. They don't deserve a gold medal; Canada does.

Thats due to the Coach, he is totally CLUELESS and so far he have NEVER won anything. and with this CLOWN behind the bench Sweden will NEVER win anything.

His trackrecord is abysmal at best in regards to results in championships.

I so wish we had a coach like Arne Strömberg to put in.

But those days are gone but a coach like Conny Evensson would be so much better than this clown we have in Hardy

How is he ranked the worst? My god the man has gotten this team into the final four 4 times in a row and the finals twice. If the players buckle under the preassure then it's their own fault.

Goal 1 - Ryan Smyth
Goal 2 - Dany Heatley
Goal 3 - Michael Nylander
Goal 4 - Jay Bouwmeester
Goal 5 - Matt Cooke

Looking at some other swedish forums you can see words like dipers, women, panties...

Blaming the coach for everything is the easy way out. These guys are the cream of the crop in the hockey world; they shouldn't need some coach yelling at them to play hard and stick to the game plan.

The simple fact is, get too many Swedes together, they can't win big games, it seems. I guess it's a cultural trait. :shakehead:

I'm not at all surprised however I am surprised in how the way they lost the game. The word bad isn't nearly enough to describe how the defense was playing. It was pretty bad against the US too but thanks to the yanks inability they came out victorious anyway. This of course doesn't hold up against the canadians who actually had a real scorer on the team (Heatley). Well done Canada, you deserved the win.

On one hand I wish the U.S. had a few more finishers, as that could have made the differance against Sweden yesterday, and made things easier against Slovakia today, but on the other hand, this was such a hard working team with great chemistry it was probably for the best the line-up was as it was.

To the Swedes: you guys win the silver and you say your coach won nothing?!?!?!? Jeeze, you're a difficult bunch to please. You forget that there were other great hockey countries that really won nothing (i.e. Czech Republic, Russia, Slovakia, Finland). Right now there are 7 countries that can field elite teams in hockey. And in a few more years there'll probably be 3 or 4 more. A silver is nothing to sneeze at. I congratulate the Swedes on a good game and providing the world with some great players.

Maybe, I still think sweden didn't even come close to playing to their potential today and it was more because of their own fault than anything else. In any way losing a 2-0 and 3-1 advantage is inexcusable and Canada deserves the gold.

Every coach since 1987 has won at least one championship, and until Hardy wins, the critizism will continue, like it or not. Silver is useless anyway. Who the hell cares about being the best loser? ;)

Yet another example of NHL pro's coming in and being "lazy" with a paid vacation to Prague. Worst part is that on paper there is amazing depth on the blueline and the weakness is in goal. the forward depth is ok. I have seen some brutal defensive plays by Tre Kronor but from the sounds of Radiosporten tonight we might have to go very very far back to find a game with this inept defense and willingness to go for 50-50 pucks.

I´m convinced that Ulf Dahlén will be the next head coach for Team Sweden. Funny to see him during the games shouting out instructions in english... :)

Exactly

And he is one of the longest tenurd coaches of Tre Kronor as well. so he have had ample chances to get it done.

As far as i know Only Arne Strömberg and Tommy Sandlin have coached in more championship games than Hardy. and BOTH of these have much better average final result.

And those before Sandlin took over in 1986 in the 80' "Ankan" Parmström o "Leffe vinka" Boork where brutal and rightfully didnt last very long

A silver is a FAILURE and this coach have so far won NOTHING outside of a National championship with Djurgården and Skellefteå.

Nothing but a gold is acceptable and this Coach have so far had 4 yrs going with abysmal results. It is pretty obvious he dont have what it takes to win
