GDT: WC - Czechs vs Swedes

If Calgary lose tonight Markström, Lindholm, Backlund, Järnkrok, Andersson and Kylington can become avaliable and none are FAs. That is a starting goalie, a 1C, 2C, 3C and two top 6 defencemen who we could get. Maybe Zibanejad is avaliable too, depending on tonight. Considering the coach is Garpenlöv maybe all decline though.
Yes, this option is here. But I don't believe Dallas will win in Canada. And if Calgary dropped out, I'm not sure there would be much interest in all players.

Crosby doesn't play, the chances of New York falling out are also small, if by any chance, Ziba and Nylander are my dream reinforcements. I just don't see that the players from the first round have any great interest in coming to Tampere.

Pretty much. Only see Penguins win if Malkin turns back the clock to 2009. Oof, been 13 years already.

sweden have no chance against the czechs. when was last time sweden won over czechs in wc, 15 years ago?
Atleast not since the last time Sweden won over Czechia in the World Championships.

I mean Malkin does have two Stanley Cups since then though while being very very influential. Got the smythe in 2017 if I remember right.

Obviously.

Interesting seeing Blumel on the top line. Czechia looks to have a pretty good team this year.
Deep at C and a decent NHL goalie is a great start. D is weak.

Blumel will be a good bottom 6 nhler IMO. Oil would've loved him at 1 mil per and in bottom 6. Reminds me a bit of McLeod. Utility knife. Or Gaetan has. That's his NHL window... Europe he'll be a top line guy.

Smejkal is the other guy with bottom 6 NHL potential.

He was a substantial loss for the Bruins.
He was much maligned by some B's fans yet he carried players to great seasons on his second line while the perfection line dominated. Hope he comes back!

Like I said... Krejci line is clearly line 1.lol

I bet those same fans wish he was back now, not sure why they would rag on him, it was always pretty clear he was a real good player who was essential to their scoring after the big line. I had him 2 times in my hockey pool too and was always a steady performer for me faceoffs, goals, assists, steady production.

It's a really bad year for the Swedish national team, as always for a couple of years. Basically all NHL stars are tied up in the playoffs and those who can join seem to be back to pretty much always declining to join, again. Just as under that stone statue Mårts, also called a coach. No question about it that having Garpenlöv as the coach has something to do with it. I wouldn't want to play for him either.

I wish the coach from Frölunda, Luleå or Färjestad gets the chance because they play high intensity hockey with no vacation in mind. Then you can make things happen even with weak SHL national teams. Because this will never work, the team isn't strong enough. Of course the Swedish corrupt shit federation will choose the next clown in line for being so fun at bar rounds or something. Because it's obviously not about your ability to coach and guide people.

After Mårt's disaster, after the gold series ended in 2018 with yet another gold for Sweden with Grönborg, we got Garpenlöv. What a disaster. Everybody from the NHL wanted to play for Grönborg. Nobody wants to play for Garpenlöv. We got tons of additions for Denmark, almost none for Finland. It's not that different but the coach.
