Leafs when they realize their 1st round opponents isn’t the Sens anymore but it’s now the Habs

Here
We owed plenty of games to Monty, tonight the boyz took care of him. Fun for him.

I won’t mince words; Lane is a star player already. Next stop is superstar city.

Dach existing does wonders for this club, Laine will be happy about it.

Cole lives to score goals and that’s just so much fun.

Carrier so steady. Love that quiet game out my Ds. Arber coming around to that standard too. Fantastic stuff really.

I’m psyched to be happy again and into games. It’s been a while!

Such an exciting game! Monty wasnt great but it didn't matter. Guhle was awesome tonight. Finally seeing the version of him in jr that would crunch guys.

I'm a big fan of Xhekaj's game lately. Patient and Poised. Struble was better tonight.

The forwards in general were great tonight in terms of effort. I think Dach is really starting to understand he doesn't need to snipe to score goals. I can't wait for Laine to draw in for pezz :) GHG

One thing that’s apparent during this good stretch is the consistency in the bottom 6. Pez draws in and what do they do? They put him with Dach, keep the bottom 6 intact.

Evans having career year, but Heineman and Armia playing great. If they’re gonna extend Evans, why not roll with the same line next season? I agree with 2 year term.
Heineman with a number of Power Forward moves in possession AGAIN this time on the left wing.
It's incredible how much stronger he is this season compared to last year in Laval.

Friday Night's game marks the halfway point of the year. If I would have been told that we were in a wildcard spot in the summer...

I would have believed it.

Honestly, when we got Laine, I had this sort of vision for the team. Not in this sense, of course. You don't expect Slaf to take a bit of a step back/Dach + Newhook to be lost for 30 or so games but I really did buy into the "in the mix" hype.

But no matter how it's shaked out, they look amazing right now. Even guys we usually crap on (Anderson, Gallagher + Armia come to mind) are rolling. We look like a true 4 line team and the additions of Carrier, Dobes, and Laine (when he gets over his mysterious illness) have really stabilized everything. Even with Savard being out and Laine being sick, they've weathered the storm and kept on going.

No matter where they end up, in or out, this is a really fun time to be a fan and it's been a long time since I've been able to say that.

I said this summer that we would be a bubble team and got laughed at...

How can you not love 💕 this kid?

Man
He's special lol
He has what it takes to make it here.. for sure

Montembeault is Huet.

A nice little find that comes in and provides some stretches of goaltending to provide an adequate bridge to the next great Habs goalie (Dobes or Fowler or Volokhin).

I finally zeroed in on the vibe I've had for him for awhile.

Matheson has been surprisingly solid on the right. Hutsons best game in weeks. Guhle is a stud. More games like these from newhook please
I swear Hutson's rubbed off on him. He's making more smart plays in this stretch than the entirety of the season before hand. I still don't really like Newhook's game, if we make the playoffs and can sign Demidov, he's the odd man out.

He’s realized Hutson is accomplishing 2x more than he is with 50% of the physical tools. And this is not a knock on Matheson at all - I’m sure he is working hard to improve his game now that he has Hutson to challenge and inspire him.

Just watched the rest of the game. WHAT A f***ING GREAT GAME!!!!

f*** you Canucks and f*** you refs. The amount of stuff they let go was insane... however... Habs played such an awesome physical game. No way I wanted it to go into shootout cause Monty didn't look great, but man, rest of team really stepped up!

Are we in da playoff?! Tell me we are in DA PLAYOFFS!!!

f*** YEAH!!!!
