Steinbrenner. Really good book. Makes me laugh when comparing some things George did to things some fans on this board say.
I saw this in the airport bookstore. Not the best in-flight reading but I will look into it now based off your reviewNeeded to dust this thread off. Just finished reading "the escape artist" about one of the few Jews who escaped Auschwitz. One of the best books I've ever read.
The Witcher series.
That's the second volume in the Oxford American History. I have a bunch of them on my shelf to get to. I've made it through the first 100 or so pages of What Hath God Wrought and agree so far it's awesome.
Wheel of Time is my favorite series of all time. Even the slow part in books 7-12 is worth the time. The last books is the best ending of any long series I have read. Brandon Sandersson does a great job weaving together all the loose ends.Read the Wheel of Time series last year and loved it all. Also read Piranesi last year which was phenomenal, and I highly recommend.
Currently starting the Dune series and am enjoying it so far
Another classic scifi series -- Frank Herbert is up there with the greats of the genre.Currently starting the Dune series and am enjoying it so far
Dune gets progressively whackier but remains awesome. Stuff like Star Wars can’t compare.Read the Wheel of Time series last year and loved it all. Also read Piranesi last year which was phenomenal, and I highly recommend.

Just finished the Oxford World’s Classic version of The Brothers Karamazov. This version was translated by Ignat Avsey, and I thought a great job was done.
I can’t say anything about this book that hasn’t already been said; it’s just fantastic.
That’s awesome. Yeah and now I’m reading The Idiot.Currently reading The Confidence Man by Herman Melville.
Read this same translation and it was fantastic. One of the best books I’ve ever read.
As a career medical person, the confidence man is a perfect allegory of medicine yesterday and todayCurrently reading The Confidence Man by Herman Melville.
Read this same translation and it was fantastic. One of the best books I’ve ever read.
Nice I read both of these last fall.Just finished Dark Matter (Crouch) which was a fun read and got through Hail Mary Project, both of which will movies or series at some point.
Books 5, 6 and 7 get progressively worse. IMO, book 6 reads like fan fiction and book 7 is unreadable. Good luck!I'm actually reading the Harry Potter series.....first time I only got thru first four books. I watch the accompanying movie as I finish each book.
Also just finished reading King's 11.22.63.
Maybe that's why I instinctively stopped after the 4th book first go-round. Hmmmmm......Books 5, 6 and 7 get progressively worse. IMO, book 6 reads like fan fiction and book 7 is unreadable. Good luck!
