So I checked out a local cover band in my area yesterday that's been doing the same 80s tunes for ~15 years now. I've more or less knew a few of the members over the years and whew.... they sounded bad/flat. In year 2 or 3 out of the ~15 years they sounded much better. While I'm not a big fan of the 80s I can understand why it's a good draw for a local beach crowd. (VA beach area) Seemed to me that whole band has little to no energy left which I don't blame them. I think all of them have golden handcuffs on since the pay is too good to quit such an easy gig. I can't imagine playing cover songs over and over and over.

From there I went and saw a jam band called Eggy. For anyone interested:
