IF this this little ditty, Little Latin Lupe Lu doesn't get you going on a Monday morning then you have no heartbeat [ there is a pun in there if you follow this comment all the way down]. The original was the Righteous Brothers in 1963. The Chancellors, Kingsmen [ Louie,Louie fame], the Heartbeats [ all girl band from Texas] and the most famous version, by Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels in 1966 recorded this song. My second car by 1966 was my 1965 Plymouth Fury with 383, 4 bbl. 727 Torqueflite. Ashtray full of Marlboro butts, the back seat reeking of cherry vodka, and cheap perfume; everyone playing this song at full blast when it came on your AM radio. The Newark McDonald's was rocking with the windows down and the radio full blast. The YT is a riot and a hoot......you gotta give it at least One Minute.......then the video fun begins.

Reflketor wasn't bad, but was a letdown after The Suburbs. I did enjoy Afterlife, Reflektor, and Porno. Their next album, Everything Now, is criminally bad. They really lost their way with that one. Sounds like a band having an identity crisis. This new one is miles and miles better.

She went extremely goofy for a while. Plus, anyone with taste typically kneejerks against any pop music before taking a breath and considering it for what it actually is, and she has always been firmly in the pop sphere. I loathed Michael Jackson when "Billy Jean" and everything came out, but then (much) later I calmed down. I love "Thriller." Not much more than that lol but I gave it a sincere listen.

Im a fan of both. My sister is a diehard Madonna fan with a Tattoo and all lol. Im a big fan of 80s Michael. Many a wedding was elevated by Dont Stop Till You Get Enough and Wanna Be Startin Something.
I was watching live when he did the moonwalk for the first time on that Motown show. My mind was shattered.
