They are showing all 4 games(or parts therof) on TV. Is it possible for me to watch all the games without being sent to the Happy Acres mental facility afterwards?

:dunno:

QUARTERFINALS ARE SET

10:30 AM est - Sweden(3rd B) vs Switzerland (2nd A)
-There were rumors that Sweden took it easy against Slovakia today in order to retain the 3rd spot and a matchup with the "easier team" in Switzerland instead of a date with Canada, The Swedes maintain that they just played a poor game and that you can't let up in the Olympics. The Swiss, who shocked Canada and the Czechs are the feel good story as they have only a couple NHL'ers and will look to keep finding stones to take down the Olympic Giants for their 3rd upset win on the way to the Gold.
11:30 AM est - USA (4th B) vs Finland (1st A)
-It's time for the USA to finally show up and hit the net with a shot or two, there have been multiple times where the US has had scoring chances and have missed the net. That can't happen against a team like finland who will make you pay, the Fins have the best line so far in the tournament with Selanne, Koivu, Lehtinen scoring a total of 26 points in the 5 prelim games. The Fins have been white hot and if the Americans hope to win a medal they better find a way to score a couple along with stop turning the puck over and not taking penalties....could be a long day if they do
2:30 PM est - Canada (3rd A) vs Russia (2nd B)
-This one could be a shootout, the Russians are scoring at will and the Candians have as much if not more firepower in their lineup as well. After being shutout in the two previous games the Canadians came out firing in their game against the Czechs and got 3 in the first period, however they looked to sit on that lead for the remainder of the game and the Czechs nearly came back to win that one...3-2. This game could be a high flying and high scoring afair and should be one of the better games to watch tomorrow.
3:30 PM est - Czech Rep. (4th B) vs Slovakia (1st B)
-Big Brother vs Little Brother, Neighbor vs Neighbor, however you want to describe this one it is going to be fierce. The Slovaks are looking to prove that their undefeated run in the prelims was no fluke, but must overcome a mental block against their former countrymen. The Czechs are hoping to turn around a bit of a disappointing run in the prelim games. Clearly the loss of Hasek and Elias in the first game did not help their chances, and Tomas Vokoun has looked shaky in the games so far. This team however has lots of talent and lots of firepower to come back and storm to the gold. This might be the best game of the Quarters...it will be a great game for sure

well here we go, now its Win or Go Home....

Semis would = Canada/Russia vs USA/Finland & Sweden/Swiss vs Czech Rep/Slovakia winners.

Short answer is no! :sarcasm: I think that most people on this thread will need to be committed before it's over! :biglaugh:

Game plan for tomorrow

Watch the better early game, with a preference toward Sweden-Swiss, because that's more of a fairy tale story, the winner will pay Czech-Slovakia winner in SF, and I think Finland will beat USA (and I've seen enough of Finland to know how good they are).

Late games, flipping between them constantly.

Hope the Swedes don't take the Swiss fairy tale to lightly, it seems the Swiss take things very seriously:

"Death of the Seven Dwarfs
A Legend from Switzerland

On one of the high plains between Brugg and Waldshut, near the Black Forest, seven dwarfs lived together in a small house. Late one evening an attractive young peasant girl, who was lost and hungry, approached them and requested shelter for the night. The dwarfs had only seven beds, and they fell to arguing with one another, for each one wanted to give up his bed for the girl. Finally the oldest one took the girl into his bed.

Before they could fall asleep a peasant woman appeared before their house, knocked on the door, and asked to be let inside. The girl got up immediately and told the woman that the dwarfs had only seven beds, and that there was no room there for anyone else. With this the woman became very angry and accused the girl of being a slut, thinking that she was cohabiting with all seven men. Threatening to make a quick end to such evil business, she went away in a rage.

That same night she returned with two men, whom she had brought up from the bank of the Rhine. They immediately broke into the house and killed the seven dwarfs. They buried the bodies outside in the garden and burned the house to the ground. No one knows what became of the girl."

Here in Canada is just primarly cbc, they should carry the canada/russia game, the coverage is good for the most part, Tsn picks up the other 2 games, or they split them other sports networks in canada arent allowed to show highlights of the games tho like TSN cant show highlights or sportsnet so thats kinda weak.

The HD feed tho I noticed for me anyways on my digital cable doesnt seem as smooth, maybe its just cause its overseas, but it seems kinda choppy sometimes, other then that should be a good day of action! can't wait man, ima go copp 4 or 5 hours of sleep :D

so far I watched every game, as long is this was possible considering that sometimes that I often had to switch between 2 games during the intermissions.

And I'm gonna watch all 4 QFs of course, but I'll have to switch from Swe-Swi to Fin-Usa after 1 hour, and I'll see Svk-Cze only when Can-Rus ends!!!

I'll be watching as much of all the games as I possibly can. It's a shame the games aren't spread out so we can watch them all...

I have a hard tim deciding which to watch. I'll watch the first hour of swi-swe and Rus-Can because they'll be un-interrupted, but i think the Slo-Cze game could be absolute dynamite, but then it's Can-Rus with tons of exciting players, but... slovakia and czechs will be a turf war..

a good problem to have!
