GDT: Washington @Winnipeg - Tues Mar 25/25 - 7PM - TSN3/CJOB/POWER

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

If I were trying to torpedo the top 3 lines, not sure what I'd do differently. I guess Appleton on the top line could be worse...

I'm not sure why they're f***ing with that second line considering how well they've played over the past few weeks.

Id pop Barron up with 55 and 81. He's really played well lately, why not try it?

Leave the second line as is

Put Tanev with Nino and Cappy

IA Kupari Appleton

Looks like PLD is back to playing at the level he was as a Jet. Not sure what happened in LA.

I have no idea what our team will look like tonight. We are worse without Vilardi and Pionk for sure. We’ve struggled against weaker teams for the last little while. Wake the f*** up.

I don't think any of the lines will be set in stone but it looks Arniel is trying to have a physical guy on each line. I wouldn't have the lines like this if it was me but maybe they work out .

In our circumstance and course of thought,
'Tis heavy with Helly!
Never more than now is the time his revenge;
Jets, take it to Thompson for the purging of his soul,
For he is fit and seasoned for his passage?
Aye – then:
Up, sticks, and clap bomb thou ne’re a more horrid rent:
Crash the net while Ovechicklet is drunk in self-love, and then in his rage;
Recall ye, to fuel thy temper,
The ghastly visage of Wilson – psychosis rapt in representation,
Ignore the incestuous dribblings of Sawyer’s mid-game show;
Or the media blithely congratulating naught they understand,
Or some act that has no relish of salvation in it.
Then trip them, Jets! So that their forwards’ skateblades
May waggle at heaven, as they cry out after the forecheck!
For we have seen the Caps’ enterprise,
And now have been tested of resolve.
While their souls may be as damned and black
As hell, wheretofore they issue:
Fear not! Skate and score, and score, and win.
My suffering at our losses stays,
But this physic will prolong our playoff ways.

All teams go thru injuries to their better players just happens it's the Jets time. Could have lost Nino too, that hit into the boards was scary looking. Buck up, get on the ice and play hard score some goals , sometimes it's enough sometimes you get your doors blown off.
Lets use these Moose players to fill these holes! They all have served the Jets well through the season! Let these guys heal up right for the playoffs.

I think they want a guy who can win some puck battles and get in front of the net out there with Scheifele and Connor...so Iafallo for stylistic continuity.

But yeah, they didn't have to mess with the other lines - and Appleton is a particularly strange choice to elevate since he's been bad for a while...everyone here has been talking about bumping him down to the 4th (or giving him a couple of games off) and he gets a promotion?

The Jets will book their ticket to the playoffs by:

Earning a point over the Washington Capitals

or

A St. Louis Blues loss in any fashion to the Montreal Canadiens.

Winnipeg Jets can clinch playoff spot Tuesday with a point or St. Louis Blues loss | TSN
Always exciting to know that if we clinch there'll be a four game charge on my credit card for the first round of the playoffs come morning.

Not gonna lie, this game has me concerned. Arniel knows what he's doing; Arniel knows what he's doing; Arniel knows what he's doing....

GJG.

Not expecting much from this one. Hopefully Helle starts to round into the form he'll have to be in for us to make a deep run

The hockey gods might think we deserve to goalie a team after what happened to us on Sunday

As for the lines, why not use a game where we are in tough due to missing 1RW and 2RHD vs the best team in the league to throw some shit against the wall to see what sticks? If nothing else, it could provide some insights into blender options for the playoffs

Ah, the Washington Caps. Good team? Yep. Can I ever bring myself to love their stars? Lets take a look.

There's little Tommy Wilson. Pluses - cute, cuddly (but don't stand too close).

Then, up next is Old Two Logs, who makes Tom look like the plenary lecturer at the local cosmology conference.

All anchored by that good ol' boy, Alex. Fighting the good fight.

It’s really hard for me to second Arniel with the season we’ve had, but I agree.

Last time we played Caps. We lost a lot of puck battles. Caps are the big heavy team and the best along the boards I think we got to keep the puck in the middle of the ice as much as possible
Creating lines with at least one big physical presence helps only so much

Thanks for the GDT @SUX2BU, always appreciated. Let's hope that the Jets will be up for this game and frustrate Ovi for the entire sixty minutes.

On a sad note, the results of the three bonus questions were lost in the upgrade, so no extra points will be awarded at the end of this year's contest. I'm very disappointed as it is a close race this year where every point counts. I tried going to the waybackmachine archive, but it never updated HFBoards since the polls were posted. This was something that was beyond my control and I apologize for not recording any of the results as back up...

Agreed, before the shine wore off.

He had me fooled with the highs of his play, because he can be so dominate when it's going for him, like he's showing again this year; but, once things don't go his way, it's back to moody, sulking PLD which is cancerous to any team. Been this way since his junior days.

Enigma of a player.
