GDT: Washington @Winnipeg - Tues Mar 25/25 - 7PM - TSN3/CJOB/POWER

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Tough news about Vilardi's injury.

Someone needs to step up to fill the void.

The Jets have faced little adversity this season with likely among the fewest man-games lost to injury in the NHL. With Vilardi and Pionk out, these upcoming games on the homestand will be a good test of where this team actually stands in the grand scheme of things.

Offhand, I remember the 2017-18 team had a tonne of injuries to key players throughout the season, yet they kept rolling along. There's absolutely no reason this team shouldn't do the same if they are as good or better than that team as some claim.

If I were trying to torpedo the top 3 lines, not sure what I'd do differently. I guess Appleton on the top line could be worse...

I'm interested to see how Arniel matches them up. If you play a clean 4 line game, don't get behind early. I think Lowry could handle Strome's line with the scoring Ehlers will bring over Ovechkin 5 on 5. I honestly would like to see our super skating 4th line match up against Dubois and Wilson's line. And let the other two scoring lines play against the Washington 3rd and 4th lines.

Move over Stanley ... the new whipping boy is Appleton.
Wow the amount of hate on social media on Appleton is insane because Arniel is trying him out on the top 6?
Caps are a big heavy team and having a big checker on every line sounds like a smart move to me.
Appleton was not signed for his scoring even thou he has 2 GWGs this year ... his career high is 14 goals. His job is to shut down the opposing top lines.
What's even funnier in the Sabres loss the only forwards that were on the plus side.was Appleton and Lowry.
After 71 games and being in first place in the West for basically the whole season ... you guys think Arniel doesn't know what he is doing?
If Appleton is the reason why the Jets are losing go ahead and bash him but if he is not ... wtf are you doing?

Thanks @SUX2BU :)

So let me get this straight.

We're utilizing the pre-blending model.

Vilardi's out and rather than simply plucking Iafrate and subbing him into the first line, the second and third lines are frame-shifted with the insertion of a checking forward on each, jiggling the offence of the top six.

Hm...I prefer my battle-stations fully armed and operational, so...

Its either a genius move by Scotty or he's placed the team on a macht-wagen to the seventh layer of the inferno.

What the heck. As my cup is half-full, I'll look on the bright side. John Lu, get thee to a nunnery.

Adversity, thy name is injury.

Go Jets go! Limit Ovi (shut the luddite down please) and gut this out.

Jets better be freaking ready to play tonight or we will get steam rolled fast. Jets been coasting for a while now, knowing the lock is in but that can be dangerous if you can’t turn the switch back on when it counts. Nervous about tonight’s game, might be ugly
