For me that is a terrible name. Been in the area since 81 and never heard of that local animal until the name search.

Red Wolves was always my favorite. Just a slight enough nod to not make my skin craw they we aren’t calling them the skins anymore. It goes well with the color scheme (commanders does not IMO). The logo could still be a block W and it works. Lots of good short names and areas to connect fans (wolf den/wolf pack/Jr wolf cubs/etc..). And HTTR still works and sounds better than saying HTTC.

Just "Wolves" would be 100% better and keep the colors.

I don’t have a preference among any I can think of that have been mentioned. Red Wolves, meh, wolves….meh…..I kinda like Warriors, but not exactly unique.

Luckily these are however multi-billion dollar businesses who hopefully hire the right decision-makers and do the proper research before the rebrand.

I’m confident they can do much better than to hold onto Dan Snyder’s brain child.

I would have used it as a knowing reference but have the logo be, like... foxes or something instead of planes if that's the job I was tasked with, something that could even tie roughly with the iconography the team has lost based on the portrayal of the fox

The Commanders hate has always seemed a bit over the top to me. I'm not going to argue that it's a good name, but to me it's boring/basic rather than bad. There were better options (Wolves, Redtails, Admirals) and worse options (Armada & Brigade). And far worse options were considered for the Wizards name change (Sea Dogs? Stallion?).

FWIW, the Capitals are an awesome name. Yes, I'm biased, but it's fun to have Capitals in the Nation's Capital. I wish the Nationals were the Senators, but I blame MLB and the Rangers/Twins for that. Wizards is a horrendous name.

You need a good abbreviation to make it stick in my opinion. We've got nats and caps, good. Wiz is shit. Skins was obviously great. Commanders are..commies.
