Shedeur is probably feeling all sorts of Amon-Ra St Brown level of offended, furiously memorizing QBs, draft numbers and teams….

There was a video of him and Ward throwing together and Sanders was talking trash the whole time. There's also a picture of him on the WP sports page wearing a jacket with a giant dollar sign logo on it. He talked a lot of crap about being the 1st overall pick, now look at him. He's arrogant and cocky like his dad, without the hall of fame talent and career to back it up. I'm pleased he's being humbled today.
Oh. Well then **** him.
And his dad. Definitely his dad.

I saw that…it was good natured and they were both doing it….

Coming into the first 2 rounds, I was feeling like worst case scenario would be that we wouldn't find trade value and would have to stick and pick.

Gotta' say, I feel really good about what we've done so far. I remember in a big "how Adam Peters works" piece last year he made the point that they build their board based on the role a given player would play for the team more than on traditional rankings.

Well, we got a starter at one of the 15 most important jobs in the NFL -- one of the 2 bookends who will protect one of the top 5 players in the NFL. That is a MUCH bigger value than the 5th or 6th overall DE prospect not in the league, but in a given year's draft.

Then we got a guy who's going to be a force-multiplier on D by covering one side of the field and moving maybe our best CB back to his natural spot, where he couldn't play last year because our other CBs sucked harder than a warehouse full of Dysons.

It's obviously arguable, but I don't think any of the DEs available where we were picking would play a bigger role for this team than the two guys we got. That seems to be what AP was thinking, anyway.

Saints take Jonas Sanker (S - UVA) with the Commies 3rd
Love that pick for my small, emergency back-up team.

I went to HS with Jonas's dad, he was a year ahead of me. Tremendous guy, back then and apparently always since. Unfortunately he's got early onset Alzheimer's, possibly related to CTE. Really poignant story about the family and what an unbelievably good kid Jonas is:

I guess I don't see it as so good natured and both ways, it felt to me like SS was instigating it mostly and Cam was defending himself for the most part. You might see it differently, I'll admit to some bias.

I just don't like the whole damn family, but especially his dad. Dictating which teams he would play for? That's BS stuff.

Anyway, he's a 4th rounder at best... hooray for Prime Time!

+ 100. We still need a pass rusher big time, but there wasn't a great value at 29 that would be more impactful overall than Connerly. And at 61, there wasn;t one who was a better value that Amos. AP even basically said exactly this. "We had some DEs we liked but when they went, Amos was next on our board."

I think they got two big contributors in 2025, but they still have some real needs. Kinda wished they resigned Fowler.

Amen. I don't have any hate for Deion or the family, but I probably don't follow it closely enough to know where the hate comes from.

My take on dad is that he is who he's always been. Prime Time, now Coach Prime... It's laughably silly, but entertaining to watch for those into spectacle. Not my thing, but dude could play ball, so let him have his fun. *shrug*

But you know right now they're huddled up somewhere, blaming the world, still singing the same song -- "They just DON'T KNOW!!!" "We'll show 'em," is the general idea.

It all comes back to it being entertaining to watch. Love them or hate them, you'd probably watch tomorrow's episode of that show. To watch them squirm if you hate 'em, and watch them rise if you love 'em. All entertaining to watch...

And that's the rub. Lots and lots of reality shows are fun to watch, but I sure as shit wouldn't want to BE ON most of 'em...

Naked and afraid? Um, no thanks. Those words should never go together.

I'm 50. I'm not Racing anywhere, and certainly not Amazingly.

Survivor? Shitting in the woods for 5 weeks hoping for a shot at a "grand prize"? Nope. I beat leukemia. Trust me, surviving isn't fun.

I might like to be on The Voice, but no one else would like it cuz when I sing it sounds like what you might hear if a donkey got his dick caught in a bear trap.

My point is that Shedeur is destined to keep paying his father's baggage fees if he doesn't show a little humility. Being a cast member of that reality show just cost him millions...

This. I don't ever watch reality TV because the last thing I want to give attention whores is, my attention. I'm not sure there's ever been a bigger attention whore in the NFL than Deion and his son doesn't seem all that different. NFL teams don't want to sign up to be part of that reality show either, which is why I would not be entirely shocked if he goes undrafted. Its no longer about his talent level. Its about not wanting to bring the circus to training camp.

Bradyn Swinson, Jack Sawyer, Jared Ivey or Kyle Kennard would be interesting with our 4th.

I really don't get the Sanders fall unless he completely bombed the club interviews. Or there is some other stuff going on with Deion. Watched several games this year doesn't make too much sense other than some message sending.

Yea, can’t say I was crazy about him as a prospect. But he’s plenty capable - he has good mechanics, makes good decisions, and is accurate. He could be a Cousins or Bridgewater type QB. Def talented enough for NFL teams to take a chance on, and could probably run an offense right away.

Having someone like Milroe taken over him - ok, insane athletic traits I guess. But Dillon Gabriel? That’s just getting ridiculous, come on now.

There were definitely reports that the interviews didn’t go well. And I guess fear of Deion breathing down the neck of your HC turned off a lot of orgs. The gaudy, non-stop branding stuff turns me off - but that’s a whole world that I just don’t understand, ha.

I don’t necessarily dislike the family, I just find the whole thing kinda fascinating. This is one the biggest, high profile slides I can ever think of. But, unlike most prospects, Shedeur is still set for a comfortable life even if he doesn’t make it as a NFL QB.

I'm not a draftnik like all these guys but my impression is talented players don't fall like this unless they're massive injury risks or there's some other off-the-field issue.

In this case it has to be his dad because there are no other rumblings. Deion is being intentionally or unintentionally blackballed, probably because no team/GM/coach wants him hanging around their facility every day, nitpicking the operation and trying to vulture a job or even snake the HC position. Nevermind the potential for media jabs and other crap.

I predict Deion will claim collusion if his son drops much further, or maybe regardless of where he's drafted now.

Good draft, was hoping to trade back but given who they picked, i see that it propably wasn't worth it given who they ended up getting.

So what's next? I'd guess they'll go either one of the edges (Swinson, Sawyer, Kennard, Walker) that's left or one of the players they seem to really like in safety Billy Bowman Jr. or RB Devin Neal. They really seem to love Billy Bowman Jr. so he could be right there at the top of their list already.

Then there's Joshua Walker, Ty Robinson, Cam Skattebo and Dylan Sampson who would all be right there close to the top of their list but i do think each of those 4 are gone if they don't trade up.

I really like what they’ve done so far and think we should be thinking big picture about how much this roster has improved in just over one season and one+ offseasons.

Week 1 2024 CB room: Forbes, St Juste, Michael Davis, Tariq Castro-Fields, Mikey Sainristril, Noah Ig

Week 1 2025 CB room: Marcus Lattimore, Trey Amos, Mikey S, Jonathan Jones, Noah I

Probably the worst CB room in the NFL to a unit with top ten potential.

I know DE is still a serious need so we’ll see how today goes but there are some edges still unsigned in free agency they could circle back to after the draft, namely Von Miller, Matthew Judon, and Za’Darius Smith. Our old pal Preston Smith is available too.

I’m telling you….imagine drafting the kid, and your team struggles….all the chatter there would be about Prime replacing the HC.

It’s unfortunate this is happening, but they’re a product of their own actions. Very surprised he’s getting essentially getting Kaepernick’d so far. Frozen out if you will.

This article does a really good job of breaking down the slide. It's self inflicted. The best analogy is when it says that Shedeur and Deion interviewed, Step Brothers style. Teams didn't want the circus, them dictating who he would or wouldn't play for didn't help, and Shedeur didn't come off as humble enough to accept being a backup.

He is now probably best served being a UDFA and going where he wants to.

The Eagles traded down out of the end of the 3rd round, added another 2026 pick. They are now expected to have 12 picks in 2026 when this year's compensatory picks are added in. We're missing our 2nd and 4th in 2026 after the LT trade. So we have five picks, they will have 12 next year. Oh yeah, they already have six picks left today, we have three.

Catching up to the Eagles is going to require batting 1000 on player moves over the next two/three years. They have stacked the deck in their favor nicely, planning for the future, while we're in win now mode.
