Pity to lose

Too many costly errors on several goals.
Whining by whole Canadiens media/organization/fans during 4 days paid dividends in game 3
Re focus on G4. When Capitals are in it they can easily come back (the 2-3 minutes response after a goal I love it)
Hope LT is ok.
Would be a shame to not go deep in PO because of key injuries in the time of the year when it maters most.
Fehervary a big loss. Alexeyev won't be trusted to play 18+ minutes per night and it's affect the whole D.

1. No team finish the playoffs 16-0
2. A 3-2 OT loss is worth just the same as a 6-3 loss
3. It was the first playoff game at the Bell center for a lot of players, next game won’t be.
4. If Caps clean up their part of last nights mess they’ll be victorious.
5. I liked the odds of the Thompson-Montembault matchup, and I like the Lindgren-Dobes matchup. I guess it remains to be seen which matchup it’ll be.
6. Protas is close, which will improve Caps line matching ability, Forecheck and PK.
7. The referees couldn’t handle the pressure of the Bell centre, like expected. Caps can’t let that get to them and stay focused on what they can control.

You get outshot a lot when you cough up the puck constantly for no good reason

oh and when you have to PK 5 power plays (and only have 2 of your own)

oh oh...and about half their shots were from ONE LINE. Guess which one? Caufield had ELEVEN shots by himself.

So let's recap: 2 pp goals agains on 5 PPs, only 2 unconverted PPs for ourselves. Almost all the goals against were on bad, stupid giveaways by our guys. Their 3 top players are responsible for half their shots and ONE GUY took over 25% of their total shots.

DOOOOOOM
Wait, I’m sorry. Let me get this straight, you don’t think they got curb stomped last night?

In no way did I declare the series lost, but I hope they pull their heads out of their assess for game four.

Last night was a shit show.

Habs were hyped, crowd was juiced, some sketchy calls, Caps looked jittery, bench brawl after 2nd takes Tommy off, . . . And yet. 3 minutes into the 3rd period we tie it up 3-3. A great spot to be in after the first 2 periods. But instead of becoming more composed, calming the game down, more shots on Dobes . . . we unravel. Teachable moment for Carbs IMO

have we flipped the switch yet?
ouch. not even sure what I witnessed last night

details and effort went down the shitter down the stretch of RS
now we're scrambling and can't keep it together for any long stretches and offense hasn't been clicking much and failing to finish on tons of high-danger chances

We handed over Momentum like halloween candy [/Dale Hunter-bad-bad-bad]

Gm4 hope Big Pro is back and Carbs gets this team playing together

It was a tie game into the 3rd period DESPITE all the things I pointed out, and with Wilson in the box for 12 min. We could've won that game despite shooting ourselves on the foot.

They are a one-line team and we are making stupid mistakes in our own end.

These things can be fixed and we were not "curb-stomped" unless you count being stomped by your own boot.

Nobody believes that, but a sweep wasn't impossible for the Caps yet they made it difficult. The frustrating thing is listening to US markets pumping up Montreal and we shouldn't have to mute the play by play. The Caps can beat anyone when focused. Absolutely on Protas. He will give them problems, especially on the PK. I haven't seen the latest on LT's update, but I am comfortable with Chuckie. I want to see more Leonard and not Raddysh going forward.

Small thing for these playoffs but big thing long term: look at how Leonard handled Hutson in game 3 vs game 2. Obviously, it's a different situation, but it's really satisfying to see him learn from his mistakes in such a short time span.

Nobody believes that BUT, lots of folks here freak out over every bad play and any loss. And it’s exhausting.

Agree on the broadcast. It’s unbearable, but what else is new?

The Caps were objectively terrible last night. But even while playing awful vs a Habs squad giving their best, we were in it until late. And most (all?) of our problems were self-inflicted, largely around failing to skate hard enough to outpace their forecheck. If our guys play consistently at even 3/4 of their ability for 60 minutes they get a different result.
