Better high end argument until the 1997 season do make some sense.
Mario is not included in those stats and Wayne was #8 in PPG. I included the #40 player (#46 for Crosby given the 15% increase in teams) in those stats and we still see a significant gap in their PPG dominance (92% vs 72%).
It is statistically unreasonable to make any claim that Lindros was as dominant offensively as Crosby was in those samples, let alone superior. There is no reasonable foundation to think that Lindros hits a higher offensive ceiling than Crosby if not for injuries.
He was, at best, an Art Ross contender at his peak. Of course this ignores the fact that he did not show he could be as effective offensively if he could not factor in his physicality.
