meh. I'm not worried about his stats there. It's purely about his pitch count.
As others said, in this situation, he was likely looking to get comfortable in all his pitches, and do what he can that way.
He said he felt great, which is all we really needed.
A better question is who do you feel better about starting in New York on Saturday - Buerhle or Stroman?
I wouldn't expect Stroman to say anything else. His entire year was dedicated to rehabbing for this start - I don't see him saying "I felt terrible", even if he did. His location was terrible from what I've heard.
Id maybe give him another start at AAA, and push back his start until early next week, but other than that, there's no real concern here.
Personally, Buehrle. I'll always air on the side of caution - instead of putting Stroman back and getting him lit up. I would lower the expectations of Stroman and start him out of the pen.
That's going to be tough, considering AAA season is over.
The key was that he could get to 85 pitches without any aches or pains. I wouldn't put to much worry on stats as he could of been working on a pitch or two only.

Just a friendly reminder of Buehrle's stats in NYS
9 GS, 0-7, 6.22 ERA, 1.579 WHIP, 5.4 K/9, 2.5 BB/9, 2.3 HR/9
From now on, I only want to see Loup, Tepera and Francis in either a blowout or a long extra innings game where every other pitcher has been used.
I'd chance Stroman at this point...since Buerhle's really shaky the last while.
Stroman pitched poorly today in Buffalo, so he may not be the answer either.
