Waning interest in Habs and NHL in general, I think the ads are bothering me more then I thought it would.....

Loss of passion for old interests that typically comes with age aside, I get where you're coming from. Ads keep infesting life to a higher degree over time, and while much of it can be blocked or ignored, when hockey games start to look like the entertainment screen from Idiocracy, I question how much I really want to tolerate in order to watch an on-ice product that is now almost fully devoid of physicality, abrasiveness, and interesting rivalries.

I agree with the pay per view idea... that is coming for sure. LIke you tube premium

Thanks for the replys everyone, enjoyed reading thought it. I'll do my best to tune them out, but as many have stated its hard.
The natural take over of life priorities is logical and makes sense.

I think if they didn't jam the sports betting ads down my throat every chance (which I agree are predatory) along with changing the ads during stoppage could go along way to improving the fan experience.

I mean just look, soon netflix is going to have commercials. Remember why everyone went to netflix, watch stuff without ads.

You stay around long enough, you see yourself become the enemy.... or something.

also I want Bell Center Molson Dogs at the grocery store!

It's already here, it's just integrated in Sportsnet/TSN.

The future of ad free (digital ads) hockey will be baked in with something like a subscription or pay per view model like service.
Videotron still has tech from the 90’s and tv deals are weird. Anyone with hab broadcasting rights remind me of downtown “middle-man” pushers from pre-SDQ… “yeah I know a guy, give me your $ I’ll be right back”…

They had NHL Gamecenter Live. It still had regional blackouts. And they they showed ads. On top of all the ads already on the boards, the ice, the helmets, the TV streams themselves...

Now they merged that into SN Now. Still with regional blackouts.

Professional sports are shooting themselves in the foot. It's so hard to watch the games as cord cutters, and the image quality is so trash, most young people I know don't care about hockey. My kids couldn't give a rats ass about watching the Habs on TV. They like going to live Rockets games though.

In about 20 years, maybe 30, the NHL will be in serious trouble. They have no foresight.
