North to south winger with good speed and physical play. Gets to the net. Wins board battles. Has some skill, but a complimentary type of power forward. Has good size already at 6'1 196. Potentially an early mid/round pick for 2026, but it's early to be too definitive. Providence College commit for 26-27 @Dux917. Played at Mount this past season, so @sigx15 might have some views on him. He's a Tri-City pick in the USHL, and a Halifax pick in the Q, so those are the two places where he could go for junior hockey this upcoming season.

Didn't know much about him before he committed to Providence and the 5 Nations, but his 5 Nations performance has him on my radar for the next couple years. Already trending in the direction of solid recruiting win for Leaman and the Friars.

Will Bent commits to Providence College
By Evan Marinofsky

Another top 2008-born player from New England is off the board.

Will Bent announced his commitment to Providence College via Instagram on Thursday. The 6-foot-1, 196-pound forward from Dover, Mass., was a standout with Mount St. Charles’ 15O squad this past season, scoring 51 goals and totaling 93 points in 58 games.

His performance was good enough to warrant an invite to the U.S. National Team Development Program’s Evaluation Camp earlier this year. While he didn’t make the team, he was taken in the third round (37th overall) of the USHL Phase 1 Draft by the Tri-City Storm.

Bent was a standout at USA Hockey’s Select 16 Camp in July, posting four goals and seven points in six games, earning him a spot on the U17 Five Nations Team. That tournament is set for Aug. 14-18.

As for what makes him so lethal, he’s known for using his size to gain inside position around the slot and being able to produce offense at will. He’s a strong, powerful skater who gets up ice quickly and can drive play. He has a heavy shot, too.

This is a big get for Providence College. Providence has always been known for playing a gritty game, but has some high-end offensive talent coming in this fall with Trevor Connelly and John Mustard. Bent, who won’t land in Providence likely until the fall of 2026 or 2027, fits a similar mold.

Bent is slated to return to Mount St. Charles this fall to play his 16U season. That trend of production should continue.
