Value of: Vladislav Gavrikov

I'm guessing 8x7.5 in LA based on comps and market pressure but anything under 8.5 would make me happy.

Could easily see him getting Chychrun money on the open market, top pairing-able defensive dmen that can play both sides and move the puck well don't often hit UFA in their primes.

But he seems to like it in LA, and Blake bent himself over a barrel with no LHD in the system with a rising cap (and already paid Joel Edmundson stupid bucks)...so the Blake special would be full term for security, a limited NTC/NMC for his ffamily, and money under 1m lower than open market value.

Gavrikov is one of my favorite players but what world do we live in where he'd be getting paid 10M a year.

Have we lost our minds.
The flat cap is ending and the expectations are that it's going to jump up very shortly.
Plenty of GMs are going to sign contracts in the next couple of offseasons that they (or their successors) are going to regret.

I'd pay him 10 mill to come to Calgary.

Over how many years?

Based on his IG and stories in the media, I think him and his family like it in LA so he will most likely re-sign there

C'mon ViD, use your Russian connections and plant the seed of him returning to Blue Jackets Area. Anastasia will be best friends with Viktoria.

Everybody has cap space. Everybody. A handful of teams are going to need to spend 10M just to reach the cap floor.

Pittsburgh has 25M in space, and is trying to rebuild on the fly before Sid retires. They are gonna let their kids come up over the next couple years to fill depth spots, so all that cap is available to be spent on a couple players. They could legitimately throw 14M at Marner and 10M at Gavrikov and be cap compliant. Not saying they will, but they could. Any team wanting to improve their roster this offseason, or the next two, is going to have to pay up big time to out bid their competitors.
