Friedman: Vladimir Tarasenko[DET] might be traded?

I can see a crap contract for another kind of trade.

Laine? Krug? Killorn? Gallagher? Palat? Burakovsky?

He'll go to Vegas at 50% and suddenly become good again.

want Perron back?
As much as I love Perron, I don't miss his late game penalties.

The extra year makes this more difficult. It’s not appealing to the other team given Tank’s already downward trajectory and age and it’s not appealing to the Wings to have to double the length of retention which while not massive, would start to bleed into a timeframe when they want to be real contenders.

If it was a straight retained rental, I think this would be easy peasy if they wanted to move him. He’s shooting close to half his career average so he can still probably pace for close to 20 goals / 82 in the right situation. And there are real contenders who have had to trot out worse flotsam than that in their top nine winger group this year.

I'd be ok with it, it's better than a buyout and Wings would have 29 mil with no Raymond or Seider like contracts to sign.

He got a 3rd + conditional 4th last year while having 17g and 41 points in 57 games, while also having 50% retained and no remaining years.

I’m not sure there’s a market without significant retention with a year remaining and having a significantly worse season.
I'm sure we can find a taker from a contender who's cash strapped. He has one more year but he'd be at 2.375,I'm sure someone will think he can bounce back to 45-50pts

Dont even need a 4th ... jeff skinner had been a disaster in edm no??? Wouldnt they switch him for tarasenko? If skinner doesn't want to be here get a 3rd team involved to take him and we get a 5th or 6th

Full salary I'd say ya no chance but I think someone would bite. 2 cups , so he has some cup experience

They can’t fit Tarasenko for Skinner under the cap without retention or added bodies, and his extra year likely makes it a nonstarter. They’d likely rather just let the Skinner contract run off the books than add an extra year for Tarasenko.

wings are in the last wildcard spot and they are gonna trade him? i hope they'd do a player swap or bring someone else in. otherwise i dont get the move. they have a chance to end the 8 season playoff drought.
Kasper, Soderblom and Berggren are all playing better than him. DeBrincat, Raymond and Kane were always supposed to be in front of him.

The emergence of Soderblom and the fact Kasper ended up on the wing are factors that make Tank expendable. Probably not a single Wings fan would want Tank in the lineup over Soderblom. Tarasenko does Detroit no good on the 4th line.

It would be great if the Wings could trade him for a useful 4th liner grinder with speed and most importantly some Penalty killing abilities.

I think the only way Tank gets traded is if he really wants out...he won a cup last year, so I doubt it is his driver.

I would imagine (like Kane) he asked for and got a full NTC to have some home stability for the year and hopefully a fun run with a building team.

T-Mc is still going through team evaluations (and will for the rest of the season), Tank really struggled under Lalonde to find a good spot, but I think the new coaches have finally accepted that he is a RW and has to be a RW to be effective. So they will find him the best mates to be 2/3RW with Kane as the other one (this year).

Tank has been somewhat snake-bit this year, he is only shooting 7.5% versus a career average of 12.6%, now that the 300 mark monkey is off his back...just maybe he'll get back on track after the break, he has been playing a little more inspired of late.

Since T-Mc arrived, in 20 GP Tank is 3-7-10 (-1) all even strength points...his SH is a bit better at 8.6% so he is finding his way...if only a little bit so far, he needs to loosen up his grip on the stick a little more and play f_____g hockey.

There are always insider discussions going on, but without Friedman giving a source, I doubt SY is shopping Tank, and I doubt Tank has asked to be moved, and for now, T-Mc has him penciled in at 2RW for an evaluation cycle.

7 Games left to the TDL for the wings (8 if you count the road game of the TDL), the only moves I suspect SY will make is if someone else really wants to overpay for something he sees surplus, a player really wants out or a hockey deal appears that is too good to turn down.

Pretty sure skinner makes 3 , tarasenko 50% means they have cap room for another move

As For next year if goes back to 50 pt stats at 2.3 I'd say it's a good deal. Skinner and arvidsson deals dont look so good

This is Friedman speculating not reporting.
None of the Red Wings "insider"-reporters have knowledge of this.
He wouldnt just "speculate" this out of nowhere

Of course he wouldn't. Its not like he needs viewers or readers...

That being said, IF there would be a "fit" anywhere, would probably be with the Blues as Yzerman keep trading with them and getting a pick and Mathieu Joseph in return for the bottom six to some degree makes sense sports wise and cap wise. Also one you could toss up on the 2nd line if it is needed.
