Blue Jays Discussion: Vladdy has signed 14 yr/500mil

Will Robertson coming up in the 9th trying for his 4th homerun of the game and only gets a double. Only 14 bases on the day. Shameful
He's having such a great season - easily one of the best in AAA.

At 27, he seems like a longshot to turn into anything, and if he does I doubt it's with the Jays since he's a LHH corner OF, but it would be cool to see him get a shot somewhere.

Also, he overshadowed Orelvis, who went back-to-back with him twice. He's coming around.

Yeah I have a really tough time seeing how he gets any playing time in Toronto but it's not like he's a complete nobody. He was a 4th rounder just below slot. Basically Jace Bohrofen kind of draft pick and we think he has potential. Where does his shot come from though? Get rule 5 drafted by someone? Gets added by Toronto after Springer contract ends maybe. Minor league free agent eventually?

Send him to Colorado for a reliever, immediately plug him into the heart of the Rockies lineup.

Send him to Colorado for a PTBNL, include Robertson is the list of players you can choose from. He hits 50 HR at Coors. Take Robertson back. Trade him for a lot somewhere else because people think Coors has made him good now.

The issue with Bauer isn’t whether he committed a crime or not, and I actually think he probably didn’t commit a crime (in this instance, at least).

The issue is that this guy is some sort of sociopath who *likes* beating the crap out of women and gets off on it. And to me that’s even worse than something like Osuna. And I’m not defending Osuna even remotely and he deserved everything that happened to him, but at least he probably didn’t enjoy it and he probably regretted it afterward. And maybe a person like that can change or grow or do better.

Bauer is just an absolute creep and I want no part of having this sort of human being on my favourite team. And he’s a MAGA nutjob on top of that. Just an absolute weird/toxic shitty human being that you don’t want around your organization.
When was he charged with assaulting women? I've never seen that. Bassit is likely also a Maga if I was gonna get. I could care less about his political views. I want him to pitch well and help my team win. He seems to be well liked by the players on the international teams he plays with. But there's clearly something teams don't like about him for no one to bring him in

Khal Stephen is pitching a gem. 5 innings and 9 SO. Has only given up 1ER.

Finishes with 11 K in 6 innings. milb has him at 2 ER but I agree with you. I don't see how error, out, out, triple is an earned run. Innings over before the triple without the error. Do they factor in that the triple carries over to the next inning and 2 runs would have score then instead? If so that's dumb

I think they just made a mistake. Struggled a touch in the fourth but came back and then pitched two more excellent innings. By far his best start at High A. 16 whiffs too, which is very good.

Does his 10th put him in the organizational lead?

Also, Ryan Watson had a great start in AA. One of the few guys in the system getting up to 6-7ip regularly.

6.2so ip, 2h, 0bb, 9ks. Era 3.58. Whip 1.08.

This is interesting Brandon Barriera, the 2022 first-rounder also returning from elbow surgery, has touched 99 m.p.h. in live batting practices and could be back in games by month’s end.

Fairly good article. Kasevich fractured his wrist in a rehab game so he will be gone for a long time. Sucks for him because this year likely be a write off. Might be in the Fall league.

It's not about the political issues for god's sake. It's about the fact Bauer, even before the allegations/his views were in focus, was a malignant tumor of a teammate that has been damn near ran out of every locker room he's ever been in. He's a loudmouthed asshole. He was with the Dodgers all of a couple months before even they got sick of him. Joey Votto, legitimately one of the all time good guys in baseball couldn't f***ing stand the guy and they played together for 60 or so games.

Bassitt's beliefs may or may not align with a lot of us here, but the big difference is he keeps his mouth shut and keeps the focus on baseball. I cannot control what others believe, so if he's not trying to do the same, then i'm okay with it.

That and while i may not agree with his views, i have a really hard time believing Bassitt is an awful/evil person for all the shit he does for charities in and around the Toronto area.

Nothing from what I have seen and I check a lot about prospects.

He’s raw and it could be simply they are working on him on the developmental side.

Might have a minor injury as well.

EDIT he’s on the 7 day injury list.

Thanks. I saw the tweet from DM Fox about an hour or so after my post here. Seems like a weird coincidence after weeks of nothing I inquire here and we hear news just 1 hour later.

to my baseball nerds, I'm in a dynasty league. 3rd pick in the rookie draft. Essentially the draft is any prospect not on a roster or players in the upcoming draft.

I'm assuming Sasaki and Holiday go 1-2.

Franklin Arias isn't drafted, considered him. Zyhir Hope isn't as well. Drake baldwin isn't. Any recommendations on who to take?

Debut years away: Konnor Griffin, Jesus Made, Luis Pena

Closer debuts/already in Majors: Baldwin, Walcott, Basallo, Painter, Hope

Baldwin looks like a stud already in limited action, so can't go wrong there.
