They got Harry for Trevor Richards. He had a good 2023 season but stunk last year. Apparently his defense is fairly solid as an SS. If he continues to do well, he's worth keeping an eye on.From the farm yesterday:
AAA BUF got mauled again. Easton Lucas struggled with command, but was fine. Babe on base 3 times with a 2B. JClase swiped his 12th bag
AA NH got a gem from Rafael Sanchez again: 6so innings with 5ks just 3bb+h. Fisher Cats erupted for 5 in the top of the six for the win (game called after that). Jay Harry promoted from A+ and had a 2-3 debut. Eddison Paulino 2-2 with a 2b and bb.
A+ VAN got beat up. Arjun Nimmala the bright spot: 2-5, HR 3rbi.
A DUN got the win. DM Fox’s tweet jinxed Trey who got just one more out, lifted with bases loaded and his relief walked two in. 10k’s of 13 outs though. Gage Stanifer was a ground ball machine with 4 clean innings for the win, and 8go. Manuel Beltre 1-3 with 2bb. Hasn’t stolen a base yet, but has 10bbs to 11ks. Great start for him.
None of that addresses my questionThe positive so far is Springer.
For everyone else, there needs to be some tweaking to the approach. The Jays are near the bottom in Pull % and near the top in Oppo % which makes generating offense difficult (all the other teams like that are bottom half in homers, but can score other ways like hitting doubles).
Orelvis is starting to get going. Last week his wRC is 122. Power is up, and k rate down.A rare sweep for the farm. Someone in TO had to do it.
AAA BUFF decent start for Trenton Wallace, better relief from Andrew Bash. Joey Loperfido had three hits, OMart had two.
AA NH got another great start from Ryan Watson, 6 2hit shutout innings with 6ks. Pen held on. Yohendrick Pinango accounted for all the games runs with a 2-out rbi double in the 8th.
A+ VAN went to town. Fernando Perez had a solid start 4ip 1er 4k’s, and the bullpen was tight. Offence exploded for 10 runs on 4home runs: three run shots for Arjun Nimmala and Sean Keys, two run shots by Sean Keys and Carter Cunningham.
A DUN got a great start from Cody Holcombe again: 5 shutout innings, 5bb+h and 6ks. 2b Sam Shaw had another day at the dish, 2-3 with a bb and hr.
There isn't a good answer.None of that addresses my question
Shatkins cannot possibly get another contract. It would be utter insanityThe offense that could not get any worse last year, has gotten worse.
It's baffling since on paper it should be better. The offense that could not get any worse last year, has gotten worse.
