I guess? Why would Kravtsov want to come here? I suppose he'd basically be the most skilled RW the Oilers have so a top six role is all but guaranteed....

Probably a good place for him. But he shouldn't (imo) be worth Holloway, Broberg, Bourgault or their first rounder, so it's tough for the Rangers.

does he require waivers due to playing in another league or is that only if the player signs as a UFA?

No, because he's under contract and on loan to his KHL team. Waivers is only necessary for players who aren't already under contract or on the team's reserve list.

Normally he'd be able to return at any time, but the Rangers agreed to leave him in the KHL for the season as part of the loan agreement.

well he would be top RW NY too but he bailed

Well he left after he was the last cut in training camp, so the coaches obviously felt he wasn't ready. He hasn't lit it up in the KHL either as far as I can tell. Big, skilled guy though.

If he does come back earlier rather than later to the NHL (assuming his team goes out early in the playoffs) would Yamamoto - Kravtsov be a good swap?

I think it was the latest 31 thoughts podcast, Friedman said he needed to pass through waivers to return this year. Episode came out today. **Edit, requires waivers NEXT YEAR**

If I'm Kent Hughes this is a guy I target and offer NYR help for the playoff.
I think they dont need defense but I can see a 3 way trade with someone who need and have centre to offer.

Like :

Mtl : Kravtsov
NYR : mid 20's forward help / center prospect.
3rd team who want to push : Ben Chiarot.

Denisenko need change I think with Florida. This team is linked with Chiarot. Anyway.

Kravtsov for Bourgault.

Zero reason for Edmonton to entertain this one.

Highest I’d go is something around Ryan McLeod.

Kravtsov drafted 9th put up 4 points across 20 games. High skilled RW. A position Edmonton isn’t deep at.

McLeod drafted 40th same draft. 9 points in 43 games. Currently on roster and can play center. Currently on the wing as we now roll McDavid, Draisaitl and RNH 1-2-3

Come on, Kravstov is much closer in value to Bourgault than he is to McLeod.

Oilers need more scoring on RW, what would be the ask?
basically 9OA Krav for 8OA Broberg
would consider discount for Geo./similar sweetener

Yamamoto in a change of scenary…
no, don't want failed projects of limited talent = minimal upside

Edmonton needs G and D but knowing their management, i wouldnt be suprised
if enuf on the table, we can talk a reasonable package

Yeah, pls understand NY has zero reason to deal him if we are not getting a top 15-ish level pick for him. Drury has every incentive to climb out from under the stupid debacle HE created by mishandling this situation, so unless Dolan gives him a pass --- which he shouldn't b'c NY should not be so cavalier about squandering assets --- unless we get enuf up front, he should come back to NY and play w/top first line guys to update his current worth and establish at top dollar. Low ball offers will not be accepted given that.

bold you are wrong
underline no

it is clear Drury has wood for this guy, not sure why, possibly b'c he was Gorton's guy. Most of us thought he deserved to make club AND IT IS NOT OPEN TO DISPUTE THAT SETTING ASIDE ANY OTHER PLAYER, HE CERTAINLY WAS MORE DESERVING THAN McKegg.

Someone has indicated somewhere in other thread Krav #s in K are comparable to other established stars at similar points in their careers.

Disagree, and only a generational like McD is gonna do high pts with 4th line drek which is mostly what Krav has been dealing with.

gotta be blue chip for blue chip or no.

Not to me he isn’t. You wont get a do over in a Kravstov trade. You either find another highly skill guy taken high in the draft who’s not working at all with his club and hope for a change of scenery deal or you move him for a safer bet, lower ceiling higher floor type and try addressing a need. Nobody is going to offer up a highly regarded prospect who the club has yet to see stall or faltered a bit just for the sake of it. A guy like Bourgault just isn’t happening. Maybe a Zadina swap with Detroit is more what you want?

LOL at Bern trying for Broberg again in the following post. No no no just stop that nonsense

How would a mid 20s forward help /center prospect do anything for the Rangers in the playoffs?
