Visnovsky Drama Part II (MOD WARNING #119)

I think judging and offending Americans, Slovaks or anybody else based on this discussion is just a presentation of the offender....
All contributors to this board should now, maybe, for a while, wait for new facts.
I personnaly think that Vis is reasonable to some point, if there really is no other legal way, he will report. But still, 10 a.m. Monday morning in the US is only to come, right ;)

Don't know about you, but I would. "Not allowed to quit" sounds like a good definition of modern-day slavery and employee abuse.

Oh, he's allowed to quit. It's called retirement. Nobody is preventing him from doing that. He will not go to jail, will not be put on the terrorist "no fly" list, or tracked by bounty hunters.

Asking a man to stand up to his end of an agreement that he voluntarily entered into (and profited from), such agreement including terms for ending the agreement prior to the expiration of said agreement (retirement, buy out, etc) and comparing that to slavery is offensive.

I'm pretty sure he's Slovak, not Czech. Huge numbers of Slovaks live in the Czech Republic, and in Canada, too.

OK
I don't mean to offend anyone or insult someone or anything like that. I just isn't to familiar with the post Czechoslovakia.

And I'm for sure no NHL first,Europe hockey second guy. I really want KHL to be a huge success.

What I really don't want, is bad blood and a war between NHL and KHL that could result in no NHL players in the next Olympic.
Viz playing for Slovan is totally not worth that risk.

I agree with you. :thumbu:

Life is not black-and-white. No one says "it's all about being home". I believe Lubo's current predicament is a combination of various factors. Such as his family concerns; being already deeply involved with another team, fighting for a play-off spot; Lubo's health; Lubo's advanced age.

I'm convinced Lubo intended to join the Isles in September. The lockout made that impossible. Now he has already played 30+ games for Slovan, in a highly competitive league involving lots of long-distance travel, much more than in the NHL, across 10 time zones. Now you want him to play 48 more games in a few months' time, which would mean ViÅ¡ňovský would get to play almost the full-length NHL season of 82 games (adding KHL and NHL games together), but at a much more furious rate in the closing months. Lubo is no longer 25; he's 36. You must take all those things into account.

Jaromir Jagr says hi. And he even is the major stakeholder on his hometown team Kladno (that really struggles financially and struggled hockey vice without the pros) who he has carried and could have carried to an Extra liga gold.

And Malkin could have fighted for The Gagarin Cup with his hometown Magnitogorsk.
But both of them honor their contracts.:handclap:

I used to not care about Visnovsky coming over. I got to the point where this whole situation just irritated me and I wanted it to end, regardless of the outcome. I actually still kind of feel that way, but part of me now is really hoping that Visnovsky shows up, just so I can read what Faterson has to say. Unfortunately, I'm assuming he would disappear...

BTW, if he does show up can we nickname him "SLAVE"??? It actually is kind of catchy.

Okay we've beat the ever loving daylight out of this. Unless something changes we're done.

If something new breaks PM a Mod Team member.
