he was good on the Minnesota Wild last year 4th line ~ better sadly than Beecher been this season
Really good in 22-23 in Providence

Go fight with JoeGET THE DUCK BOATS READY!!!!
Seriously, even their AHL call ups are bottom 6 stiffs with zero offensive upside. On a team that can't buy a goal most nights, why? It's incredibly frustrating watching this ineptitude.
I know it’s not the name many hoped to see after McLaughlin was put on waivers to be sent down. At 29, he’s put up only 27 points in 129 NHL games.
Hard to say he hasn’t earned an opportunity however? He’s been a point-per-game player in Providence over two stints. He’s a hard worker.
People were surprised that Brazeau got the call last season and he immediately acclimated himself well. Maybe we see something similar here?
Okay, but what does an incremental upgrade at best on the 4th line do for them? A move like this suggests that the issue is Beecher and the 4th line. Yet anyone that has watched this shitbag team as a collective can definitively say it has zero to do with the 4th line. In fact they have too many bottom 6 depth players on the roster already. Another one does literally nothing to make it any better.he was good on the Minnesota Wild last year 4th line ~ better sadly than Beecher been this season

How many games has Coyle been in the top 6 now? Either way, 1 point in his last 8 games...surely they could give Lysell or Merkulov or Poitras a shot in the top 6 over him and slot him back where he belongs? On top of that one of these guys has to be able to help on the PP over what they currently haveOkay, but what does an incremental upgrade at best on the 4th line do for them? Makes me question what they're doing, how they develop prospects, and whether their expectations are unrealistic because bringing in yet another stiff with zero upside over a player with at least a chance to help offensively makes no sense to me.How many games has Coyle been in the top 6 now? None of these guys are can't miss prospects but it's so frustrating seeing them give anyone but the young guys a shot....
Yep couldn't agree more on this, obviously I hope Vinni does well, but he's far from the answer here. If Lysell/Merk don't deserve the call up when we are one of the worst offensive teams then when do they?Makes me question what they're doing, how they develop prospects, and whether their expectations are unrealistic because bringing in yet another stiff with zero upside over a player with at least a chance to help offensively makes no sense to me.

I've been beating the drum that something is woefully wrong organizationally given how it's gone, which your list does a great job of encapsulating. The lack of picks turning into viable prospects that end up as NHL point producing talent is a problem and why I want them to clean house.Top 10 producing drafted FWD's since 2015 (Sweeney's Era)

You know its f***ing bad when Poitras in 47GP has the 4th most points on this list. What's worse is JFK hasn't played hockey anywhere in nearly 4 years and he's 7th on this list of most productive forwards. There are 3 f***ing guys on your top 10 that are not even in the NHL anymore and combined managed 8G / 12A over 105 games when they were.
DeBrusk to date is the only legit Top 6 guy they've drafted. Frederic, Beecher & Lauko appear to be bottom 6 guys. Poitras is an unknown, but shows top 6 upside. Studnicka & Koppanen are probably 1-2 years away from playing overseas.
Its an absolute f***ing joke how piss poor this team has been for the last 10 years at drafting and developing forwards.
Tbf they do pretty well on dmen and okay at goalie but yeah that forward list is pretty abysmal.I've been beating the drum that something is woefully wrong organizationally given how it's gone, which your list does a great job of encapsulating. The folks who watched Brazeau in Providence (like @Saxon Eric ) constantly reported that Brazeau was one of their best and most consistent players. I didn't think his call up was a "Hail Mary" for size, I thought they called him up because he was arguably the best player in Providence.Brazeau was in large part brought up as a hail Mary due to his size, no? The scoring and puck possession was a shock to fans (likely not the coaches).
What do you think of the latest call up? Same rationale I would suggest. The folks who watched Brazeau in Providence (like @Saxon Eric ) constantly reported that Brazeau was one of their best and most consistent players. Lohrei and Letourneau are the very definition of high risk/reward players they’ve drafted very recently.I think they have decided they want “200 foot forwards“ (Patrice Bergeron type ) and with the exception of David Pastrnak that is what they’ve drafted. Given the style the team has played since Claude became coach it makes sense to a point to draft that kind of player. Unfortunately they’ve carried it to the extreme. Also they don’t seem to want to take a chance on a high risk/reward player. I’m beginning to think Pasta being drafted was an exception.
I agree with you about cleaning house. A fish rots from the head down.
