Probably going to replace Trochek with a guy who isn't turning 33 in a month.
Yeah, a 33 year old who's still producing at a low end first line pace, is one of the best faceoff men in the league, plays a physical game, very good defensively, and is on a bargain contract. If you think a player like that is getting traded for pennies, you're dreaming.

Yea a 33 year old still putting up 1st line numbers, one of the best faceoff guys in the league, physical player and great 2 way player and on a steal of a contract. Keep dreaming if you think he's going for pennies.
1st line number... Of a team that is in the league's basement...

He doesn't put 1st line numbers.. come on!

Keep dreaming about a team giving you their blue chips prospects for him..

Last 4 seasons he is averages 66 points a season (Last season 53 points in 67 games which equals to 65 points over 82 games). Also the only 15 games he's missed the last 4 years.

In what world is 66 points a year NOT 1st line numbers  What do you think just the 20 players scoring over 80 points are the only 1st line players in the league?

I don't really want him at all, but if you think he's going to return a blue chip prospect + something like a 1st, then you're the one who's dreaming.

Is he coming with a time machine so teams get the 2022 version of him?

Like I said, 1st line of a basement team.

But isn't Trochek and his play contributing to that downward trend? An overwhelming majority of players decline as they age into their 30's. Don't see why Trochek would be any different.

Probably a little bit of both. A guy can be doing his job but if the defense is bad or the rest of the team is bad or having an off year the numbers will reflect that.

They weren't a basement team the last 4 years?

2 years ago they went to the ECF when he scored 77 points.

Whats the excuse now? Oh it doesnt count cause he was on a good team?

Two years ago?

He's 32 soon to be 33, wtf are you talking about?

At that age the down cliff of performance can happen any time... and it seems he has hit the downward trend in his performances...

Come on, what you're trying to prove here?

Keep dreaming about receiving blue chips prospects for him if it makes you feel good, but my little finger tells me that IF that happens (I doubt it), it won't be from Mtl and Ken Hughes...

And it won't be Hage or Zharosvky caliber prospects.

He was literally on pace for 66 points last year?

And yes, 2 years ago he scored 77 points. The same year he scored 20 points in 16 playoff games.

I hope Guerin stays away from Trochek this summer. His value to them was highest last year at the TDL, when he had an unsigned Stramel to trade. Now that he is signed, MN has another 3/4 year to see how he, and Yurov progress as young players. A team's lifeblood is their young, ELC, players, especially their C's. They shouldn't be in a hurry to trade them away.

Wild can revisit trading for a veteran C at the next TDL. Someone will be available - there always is. At that point they will have more data on their young players/prospects, which will hopefully prevent them from making a short sighted trade.

Who’s a ufa next year ?

Trocheck would be the best ufa so he’s going to get a good return

Larkin won’t matter much cause he’s only 1C option and limited teams

I still think the Kings are after him, you can't convince me he wasn't part of the Panarin talks.

Not sure how I feel or what I'd even be comfortable giving up but he fits the profile in nearly every good and bad way.

Evidently the Canes refused to include Nadeau in any package for Trocheck per Futa (?) around 49mins in:

Obviously they didn’t need him, but thinking back to the deadline, I would have done Nadeau + for Trocheck. I was thinking the Rangers were asking one of Blake, Stankoven or Nikishin + picks. Those guys were obviously non-starters. I suppose it shows how much the Canes value Nadeau plus their very high opinion of Stankoven as a C, which paid off for sure.
