Guy sure seems like he's cost himself a lot of money in the last month. Binnington getting hurt and Husso back in getting exposed again.

Not sure if anyone has cost themselves as much money this summer.

It will be interesting to see where he lands after the chair switching. I see a potential steal or overpay. Not sure which.

I would feel sorry for whatever team offers him that
Then feel sorry for the Sabres, because they need a goalie as a transition for about three years, need to overpay slightly to sign UFAs, and have the cap space to spare where it's not a problem for them.

3 x $4M is the sweet spot. If Husso plays close to that value, then Sabres take the next step and are thrilled. If not, they retain 50% and flip him in year two or three.

If he can turn around the Av's series, he will be swimming in money.
Shutout, and then 5, 4, 4, 5, 4 goals allowed in his last 5 playoff starts, inspiring next to no confidence. Veteran Blues skaters and a dismal Kuemper performance drove that comeback last night

LOL, if it wasn’t for Husso standing on his head and keeping the game close in the first period last night, the Blues would be done for the season.

So he gave up four goals last night, which one would say was weak?

Perhaps the first where MacKinnon was allowed to walk untouched through the offensive zone and take his time picking his spot.

Maybe the second one where he makes the initial save on MacKinnon who walkEd around the D-man and made an aggressive move to the net, only to see the rebound bounce off his defenseman’s chest and into the net.

Or maybe the third where the Blues centre gets cleaned on the draw and then doesn’t tie up Landeskog’s stick allowing him to deflect the point shot 4 feet in front of Husso.

Definitely must be the last one where MacKinnon goes end to end, undresses the whole team and then goes roof daddy from in tight.

Please, the goalie can’t always be judged by the number it gives up, sometimes you have to look at the quality of goal he gives up as well. If I was a Blues player I would be thanking Husso because if not for him, they are cleaning out their lockers today.

I said he inspires next to no confidence allowing 5, 4, 4, 5, 4 goals but you disagree with scorn because you personally deem all the goals in one of those 5 consecutive games unstoppable by a goaltender. I have the stronger case, you certainly must know that.

You also try to claim Husso had no role in the comeback last night, giving all of the credit to veteran Blues skaters and poor Avalanche goaltending, when in fact if it wasn’t for Husso being phenomenal in the 1st and keeping the Blues with reach, the comeback doesn’t happen.

You're falsely saying I claim Husso had "no role." I said veteran skaters and poor Avs goaltending "drove" the comeback. Your idea of "drove" extrapolates to "all" and "no role" because those are helpful words for you to put in my mouth to make your argument, which, again, is the weaker one here.

I do think those factors were more relevant than extra 1st period Husso saves, several of which were very good. He allowed 2 goals and put up an .889 in that first. You characterize this is the "play of a phenom." I'm skeptical. I bet a lot of goalies would allow two goals in a period like that. The Blues are in a position where to beat the Avs in front of Husso they feel they have to score 5 or 6 goals. This doesn't inspire confidence and was not the case with Binnington, who held the Avs to 4 goals in over two games before he was trucked by an inveterate POS who has been suspended repeatedly through his career for egregious attempts to hurt players.

Currently it's second period starting for gm6... Av's have tendency to fold in gm 7. If Husso can carry the team past this prime Av's team, his value will skyrocket.

no it doesn’t.

he hasn’t put up a full season.

i recall Toronto years ago had a hot playoff goalie on a run, resigned him fir high, and he crashed and burned.

he's on the edge of either making, or costing himself A LOT of money.

He's sucked in these playoffs but at the same time if he pulls off this comeback against Colorado he gets some of that money back.

If he beats Edmonton, which I think St Louis would he gets ALL the money back.

If he loses this series, he loses A LOT of money
