the whole business school thing is turning into ....not the kind of legacy joke anyone would want it to be, lol

I do find the waiver question to be INTELLECTUALLY interesting - emphasis meaning I am not advocating for it, so let the record show that is NOT my point

but would another rebuilding team make a claim?
He wouldn't make it past Chicago.

I said in another thread, but I believe he is severely lacking confidence this year. There is no chance he's letting that Hyman goal last night in last year when he was on his game.
You can't let that Hyman goal get past you. Was a back breaker.

This is a more than missing camp thing, and more than a Bruins defense not being as good as they have been thing. He's let in more soft mind numbing goals in this year than we have seen Bruins goalies give up in an entire full season. He seems slow. Distracted. Angles suck. Pad level sucks. It's really concerning in all actuality. I don't think he has "lost it" but you can have these kinds of seasons after getting that contract. He seems to check out at times when the going gets rough and that is something we never saw with him.

It's not so much that Swayman is losing us games, but he's most definitely not winning us games. He is not playing up to his money and it is a bit of a problem.

Ullmark has gotten into sync with how Ottawa plays and is on a huge roll. They are winning close games because of the goaltending. They are rising fast. At this point I can see the final playoff spot might be down to Ottawa vs. Boston and in essence Ullmark vs. Swayman and as it is right now, I don't like our chances in that.

The weird thing is he isn't having catching glove problems. He's always had bizarre issues catching pucks or covering them when he's had the yips in the past. This season, he's got a whole family of yips living in his pads but no problems at all with the glove.

Goalies "can" be like relief pitchers, year to year. That's why you don't give them big money to the 8th inning guy until he's a top ten closer for a couple of years.
Yes, terrible analogy, but is it?:sarcasm:
Just look at Uncle Bob down in FLA, He's considered a potential HOF'er, and he's had some abysmal years.

Would a team take a chance and trade assets for a struggling goalie with a massive contract and no history of being a reliable number 1? A bit of a gamble, when was the last time a goalie with a massive contract was even traded?
Anyone who's going to claim that contract will throw in a 6th or mid level prospect and not make everyone deal with waivers.

His stats are pretty bad in 5 of those 7 games...

.893 vs MTL
.909 vs CHI
.885 vs PHI
.771 vs WPG
.950 vs VAN
.870 vs CGY
.885 vs EDM

I don't typically give a shit about individual game save percentage because it's essentially meaningless (a guy can give up 3 goals on 15 shots he had absolutely no chance on).

But yeah, not like if you take them together they're any great shakes. They're just not the apocalypse they are with the 8-goal game added in.

Not at all, but when you're 5th highest paid goalie in the league, people are rightfully going to expect a little better than "yeah well he kinda sucks but it could be worse" isn't exactly an endorsement.

It's only an endorsement if you want to read it that way, but nothing I said there can reasonably be interpreted as an endorsement.
