Yeah his bulldog mentality is nowhere to be found right now. He's been shelled three times already, and the more goals that go in the less it looks like he's turning in the effort. It's pretty scary.

I think he's got a quicksand problem and I'm not even joking. The worse the team in front of him plays, or the worse the game is going, the worse he plays. It's why he's typically giving up his worst, most unforgivable goals on the 4th, 5th, or later goal and not the first one he gives up. The more things go to shit the shittier he plays. He's completely lost his confidence in multiple games and once that happens he's physically shrinking in net like he's shellshocked.

He's never had to deal with anything like this in his career and he's not responding well. Considering he also missed all of camp but still immediately took on a full workload as the #1, and gets all the "hard" games when the whle roster looks like shit, and it's a full-fledged f***ing disaster.

Long term I 100% think he'll be fine. I have some fear this whole season might already be lost for him.

I would say Swayman has successfully reset the goalie market as he set out to do.

The reset however, will not be a positive one for goalies going forward.
This. And I hate paying goalies big money. It’s hard watching Swaymn. Sway hurting team with on ice play and he hurt the team sucking up cap space. He better be mega star soon. More and more fans are going to make him feel the heat. Training camp is way over.

Linus owes him a few steak dinners, because he reset it just in time for Linus. And Linus is also pulling a Sway right now, he just did it without looking like a jerk. Both of them just nuked goalie values, lol.

Ullmark is actually gotten his shit together lately. Pretty good results last 5 games. Has only allowed 1 goal last 3 games and is 4-0-1.

Last night was a perfect example in the reverse of what I am taking about.

Think a lot of folks on the team feel like they need to do more than they probably should when the team is down. With Swayman you can see it in his over engagement with forward's around his crease and in is over willingness to play the puck in iffy spots.

If you put Jeremy Swayman on waivers, do any of Utah, the Ducks, Calgary or Columbus make a claim?

Would the Bruins care if that turned into a "bite them in the ass" move, given the geography and/or shittiness of those four clubs?

Hypothetically, of course.

Not unless they hire Chiarelli first.

the whole business school thing is turning into ....not the kind of legacy joke anyone would want it to be, lol

I do find the waiver question to be INTELLECTUALLY interesting - emphasis meaning I am not advocating for it, so let the record show that is NOT my point

but would another rebuilding team make a claim?

It's a laughable question, IMO, because a lot of teams would claim him. Mostly because people have the ability to look at the dumpster fire this team is and realize the constant defensive breakdowns are the problem.

They obviously bought a lemon who banked off a series win vs toronto. Paying a goalie who never proved anything is the height of bad GMing
We could have gotten a kings ransom for him as well. And found a better backup than Korpisalo. For all we know Bussi might be killing it.

Cowardly Sweeney screwed us Ullmarks the best goalie in the league right now. He might have extended at his old cap hit he loved Boston so much.

We could sell off quite a few pieces and still make the playoffs.

Might as well trade him though vs waive.

Would a team take a chance and trade assets for a struggling goalie with a massive contract and no history of being a reliable number 1? A bit of a gamble, when was the last time a goalie with a massive contract was even traded?

Nobody considering he's currently a top 40 goalie stat wise
