Martony! Martoni! Martone!
I was not expecting WIFE OF DAD to be the sequel to DAD OF BOY, but cool.God of War Laufey, announced at today’s PlayStation State of Play, looks excellent. Kratos’ wife Faye is the main character.

Ah, gotcha gotcha.I don’t have a PC or PS5. I’ve been looking at The Last of Us series and thinking of adding it to the backlog
Hell no.Pack anything? @Striiker
I saved the most I’ve ever saved (outside of TOTY) for this promo and I didn’t get a single promo card over ~15k. Literally the worst pack luck I’ve ever had, considering how many packs and how good the packs were. I’m talking multiple weeks of every rivals/champs rewards and every cup/obj/sbc. It was nuts. I opened a million saved packs, obj packs, and 83+ player picks. Just fodder. Got Dias from the 600k store pack lol. Simeone too but I thought he stunk.Hell no.I saved the most I’ve ever saved (outside of TOTY) for this promo and I didn’t get a single promo card over ~15k. Then today I used my first tokens on a PTG 93+ x3 and got Simeone, which is like 110k? So not awful. Also did both the Gakpo and Ferran Torres SBCs, so hopefully some luck in the future upgrades.
Yeah. Kind of weird the roll it out but Squad Battles and Rivals tokens aren’t even out for the first week. Sick planning. There’s so much shit out I have no clue what to do. There’s like three live events. I may have to play rush to get those tokens because I’m no where close. I played my first Champs games of the year. I’m 3-0 and probably won’t even finish the run with work and everything. It’s a full time job lol.How about you? Did you come back and try your luck? The new token system is definitely interesting. If you can be patient the rewards are really good.
I always focus on the live events because they’re usually limited time and have better rewards than squad battles or rivals. Especially the evos.Yeah. I think I am going to take Amad and just hold onto my tokens to see if anything good drops next week. I’ve seen enough 93+ packs and picks to know they are probably going to be garbage. Would probably prefer guaranteed players.
Thought about Pirlo but who knows how long he will be viable. His card was great last year but think it’s because they gave him quick step. This card doesn’t have it.
Forgot how hell Champs is. I’ll take 10 wins though after the long layoff and having no good Tots cards lol.I always focus on the live events because they’re usually limited time and have better rewards than squad battles or rivals. Especially the evos.
With the token system it seems like you can more easily skip game modes (like rivals, hopefully) and still get rewards, although fodder might be harder to get if you save for big promo packs instead of getting a bunch of 84x10s or whatever.
And yeah, I was really excited about that Pirlo until I saw the playstyles. He was one of my favorite cards last year too. I saved all my champs tokens for now because I still have no idea what to do.
Also, make sure you under the Campaign objectives tab. Week 1 token bonus.
Nice and yeah probably a good choice. I like the idea of the red players in the store that you can customize, so long as the next set are better options. You’re aware of the playstyle lab in evos that you use to build those, right? I think you missed the promo that was introduced.Forgot how hell Champs is. Holding onto tokens. Hopefully they drop a good player this week.

Yup. Takes 15 minutes to put all the playstyles on.You’re aware of the playstyle lab in evos that you use to build those, right? I think you missed the promo that was introduced.

I ended up getting 3, 4, and 8. 4 seems beloved so I started with that. Something felt off and I watched the beginning of a walkthrough and it didn’t match up. When I gained control of my character I was instantly greeted with tank controls and a strange controller configuration. I looked closer and apparently I got RE4 and not RE4R. It’s weird they are both available on the same console. I rectified that and ordered 4R. I’m playing Village until it arrivesAh, gotcha gotcha.

Resident Evil seems to drop you in the deep end early from what I’ve seen. In 7 it’s the chainsaw Mia fight, in 4 it’s the survive the village fight, in 8 there is some BS where you have to survive an onslaught of werewolves for like 5 minutes in an area you’re not familiar with, not to mention that giant werewolf showing up with the warhammer. So far I like it but not as much as 7 and 2R
Not sure if you’ve gotten to House Beneviento yet but that’s pure survival horror and probably tenser and scarier than anything in RE7. You’ll know it when it happens lolI’m working my way through 8 now too!
The balance of survival horror and action-adventure is heavily skewed towards the latter. Not enough of a balance between the two. I will say though, I’m loving 8’s combat so I can forgive the relative lack of survival horror. RE8 has some ruthlessly intense action sequences. Gets the adrenaline pumping for sure.
I need to play RE3R. Been in my backlog for a few years now. I’ve heard it’s decent.
I’m never going to touch RE6 because I’ve heard from lots of my friends it is ass.

.I actually died to the baby because it saw so dark I couldn’t see it coming round the table when I was waiting to sprint into the elevator lol. That damn
lol. May be one of the most tense moments in RE history. That was chaotic madness lolBaby

I like it a lot. I’m in the factory at the moment. My only criticism is that I think it could have done some things better like the weapon upgrade system. Even if you’re upgrading a gun it becomes obsolete by the time you get the next one. I’ll definitely be doing a new game+ with infinite ammo or new weapons. I miss the over-under shotgun from RE7 though. You don’t see too many guns like that in video games and it was a killer.
I just finished Village a little while after making that post and I liked it a lot. I feel a lot of the criticism that Ethan Winters got in RE7 as being boring and non descriptive was cranked up the other way in RE8 and a lot of people missed the point. Like that Heisenberg fight where you’re in a sorta mecha suit/vehicle just spraying bullets, and especially the part where you’re out of the vehicle and thrown hundreds of feet in the air yet able to find a way back into the vehicle (also flying around in the air) to launch a missle on your way down. That’s almost a parody of Main Character shit lol.Yeah…that’s a fair criticism about the weapon upgrading. The scarcity of typewriters in Heisenberg’s factory helped make that area more stressful lol. Great game. Played through the DLC as well. I enjoyed that too.
RE7 shotgun was awesome.
Started up FF XVI the other day. Great combat, performance is buttass on performance mode on console. Story intrigues me so far.
I'm probably one of the rare people that really liked FF XII because even though you start with plucky kid characters, by the time you get to the next town it's like "Here's the adult characters and world. Enjoy." Remember that it takes place in the same world as FF Tactics and Vagrant Story.I just finished Village a little while after making that post and I liked it a lot. I did find the ending to be surprisingly touching which isn’t expected in such an outrageous game. And the twist makes some sense looking back. I hope in the future Capcom packages 7 & 8 together in an Ethan Winters collection
I’m deciding between 3R or 4R to start tonight. I know the former gets a lot of hate for the cut content, but since I’ve never played the original I won’t have a bias. I know 4 and 4R are beloved so I’m excited for that.
TBH I’ve never looked into Final Fantasy after X. I think I’m a bit biased and jaded because IV, or even III, up to X is arguably one of the strongest and best runs of a video game series ever, and I’ll always compare the newer ones to those
