His game is known and he’s played it all year. So far so good. These players on the third and fourth line. This is what depth looks like.

We need to let Skinner and Arvidsson play more with McDavid to get them going as it's not going to happen on any other line.

Most teams load up their top talent. Recent championship teams have had these guys playing together: Kuch Point, Mackinnon Rantanen

I strongly believe we are a better team when Mcdavid plays with Drai.(they won us the most recent games) When they are split our offence is pretty dry.

The problem is we don't really have the depth to play the top line together.

Hard disagree. This isn't about stats.

This is about games in May and June.

The last two teams who beat us (Vegas and Florida) did so in large part because their goaltending was able to hold our offense in check long enough to win 4 games. We had scoring outbursts in the Vegas and Florida series sure, but also bad dry spells especially after Hill came in and Bob was outstanding in their 4 wins.

You can't just win playoff rounds against the really, really elite teams just by McDraiHyman-ing your way to wins. Other people have to score more in those tougher games.

Getting Arvidsson and Skinner going now is important, I don't give a shit about the regular season, it's about getting them feeling good about their game and a part of the offense well before the playoffs start because we need their scoring.

If it takes playing them with McDavid for stretches to get them going, then do it. The big picture matters more than "dur hur, the regular season vibe is good right now!", I don't care about the regular season vibe. We will need all hands on deck when it comes to potentially playing a team like Vegas or Florida or Colorado or Winnipeg in a 7 game series.

We don't even have 2 reliable scoring lines right now, lol, Santa bringing three entire scoring lines?

We see case in point, Arvidsson immediately produces with McDavid. He should stay there on that line now for 3-4 games at minimum and see if that gets him going. If it does, then Skinner should also get the same treatment. And then even Podkolzin after that.

It's ok to admit the coaching staff isn't perfect, they can be good on the defensive end and not so good at offensive adjustments, it happens to plenty of coaches, matter of fact most defensively strong coaches tend not to be great offensively.

I think we have the depth once Kane is back.

I’d have no hesitation rolling out some combo of:

Draisaitl-McDavid-Hyman/Arvidsson
Kane-Nuge-Hyman/Arvidsson

Then for bottom 6 I’d keep the Janmark-Rico-Brown line together. Then some hodgepodge of Podkolzin/Ryan*(prefer RHC upgrade at deadline)/Skinner/Perry/Kapanen.

That’s a good problem to have if you’re scratching 2 of those guys due to depth.

In a perfect world we move Skinner (tough with NMC but maybe to TOR, as that was his 2nd choice).

I hope they don't demote Arvi back into the bottom six on Saturday when Nuge is back in the lineup.

Give him a chance to gain some momentum after a strong game.

Knob just needs to stop being a stubborn ass with his lineup combos for one.

Seeing Arvidsson immediately produce with McDavid after Knob had his "play RNH with McDavid always!" toy taken away from him and was forced to try something else hopefully is a good wake up call to Knob.

If he can stay healthy, he should be a valuable player. Hopefully, Kane comes back for the playoffs. I like the forward group. McDavid, Draisaitl, Hyman, RNH, Arvidsson, Kane, Henrique, Brown, Podkolzin. Quite possibly the best top 9 in the league.
