So in thanks for helping y'all move into the #1 spot in the League, want to do us a solid and take a gently used Scott Darling with you back to Vegas? You can leave us any of the other goalies y'all used while MAF was hurt. Deal?

Seriously though, y'all have been the toast of the League this season. Keep it up and hope to see y'all keep playing at this level. Lord Stanley would look amazing in front of the fountains at the Bellagio.

Based on SAP Center....

A 1" rubber pad is put on ice. Then the wooden floor is on top of that.

Less than 4 hours.

Staples Center people claim it takes less than two hours to go to basketball from hockey and about 3 to go hockey from basketball. If they had lacrosse they probably could do that switch in an hour.

PNC Arena's crew can do it in about an hour and a half (although it's not ideal and they prefer a little more time to get the ice back into shape) - as someone else said, there's essentially a rubber mat/carpet they put over the ice and then put the basketball floor over that. The only time PNC would melt the ice was when the circus was in town so they could anchor the high wires and trapezes into the concrete under the ice. Now that Ringling Brothers is out of business, I've no idea what they'll do going forward.

Probably melt the ice after the end of the season. Will have $$$ on utility costs to keep ice cool, etc.

Any "dirt" event realistically requires cement floor, not ice. It's 4-6 hours to melt the ice (or less). But takes up to 48 hours to "make" a new sheet of ice.

Wings fan coming in peace to stop by and say congratulations... I really can't believe the season you've put together. It's crazy impressive that an expansion team is in first place! Keep this fairy tale going!
