I think this is more of an off-season move but here we go;

Kaedan Korczak and a pick (not sure which round would be fair)

for

RFA Denis Hildeby and RFA Pontus Holmberg

I think in both player's cases, they're a bit blocked, Korczak was penciled in on wing the other night and Hildeby is blocked by Stolarz and Woll plus the Leafs also have Ahkyamatov in their system.

Leafs need a few more picks and Holmberg would represent a cheap bottom 6 / 4th line type guy for their line up.

According to hockeyDB Korczak plays D.

Pencilled in on wing? what?

Hildeby is 23 and has only played 1 professional season in NA, how is he blocked by Stolarz and Woll. Realistically he shouldn't be making the NHL until age 25. He's simply not NHL ready at this point in time. Also Vegas already has Akira Schmidt in the pipeline and will very likely be extending Hill.

Korzcak is going nowhere. Whitecloud or Hague will be the move. We need KK to play because he is cheap and honestly already better than Whitecloud.

Vegas already has Lindbom in the system. 2 years younger than Hildeby with agreeable upside. If they need a stopgap in net, they can start with Akira Schmid without making moves.

Schwindt’s okay on line 3; if they decide to keep him, it wouldn’t break the bank, and he already plugs in where Holmberg would.

I can’t see a need for Vegas to make this move, as there isn’t really a point to bringing in a middle 6-er who would be a bit redundant on the roster (Röndbjerg’s still kicking around the AHL too) and a goalie at a superfluous developmental stage as their possible “next guy”, all at the expense of a guy who already who already fits the Knights D well - even more so if he’s a capable D that can effectively get slottied in at F.

Trading Hildeby at this point in his development would be like trading Tuuka Rask at a similar time in his development. Not worth the risk.
Yeah, this trade prop brought to mind the disastrous Tuukka Rask for Andrew Rycroft trade, back when Justin Pogge made Rask "expendible".

I don't know that I would choose any of the Leafs' goaltending prospects, including Woll, over Hildeby at this point. It's premature.

Hildeby is where he belongs for now, and is in no way "blocked". Let's watch and see how this plays out before making a decision there.
