League doesn't care. Every cash-rich team should basically be treating this "loophole" like a luxury salary cap, at this point. Teams like Toronto need to rediscover Robidas Island and send Tavares to it for a couple of months every year.

If the leafs sent Tavares to Robidas Island next year right before the deadline, guaranteed we’d get fined our 1st rounder lol. Bettman has already warned the leafs about doing this before after the Riley Nash trade.
