That is awful.
awful for what ? 7M for Fleury who had a shit crazy year is a damn good deal.
That is awful.
Giving literally any goalie seven million a year, and Fleury has basically been a one year wonder. The NHL is still an old boys club of idiots.
What are Vegas options here?Negotiating goalie contracts has to be the most unsettling thing that a GM has to do. I feel sick to my stomach even just trying to decide if this is good or not.
Fleury a one hit wonder? lol. As a Flyers fan it pains me to say it, but while he may have had a bad season or two, he's hardly a one hit wonder.
The Bruins pay one of the biggest chokers in the league 7m...

Personally I don’t think it is necessary to extend goalies too early. The demand is pretty limited each season plus the teams that generally need a goalie are not playoff caliber
Rask literally has some of the best playoff stats ever
The Bergevin special by Mcphee.
Extend his goalie 1 year before he is UFA while his value is at his peak.
We know how it turned out for Price this year.
To be fair, he was one of the best players in the playoffs. Still he's 33 and now signed till 36. I guess goalies do last longer than other players in the league but I think it still presents some risks.
Good on him though, he's a great guy.

you ever watch Rask in an elimination game?
Most consistently average goalie....LOLOL Fleury may be the most consistent nhl regular season goalie. guy gets no respect.
I think he literally let in the latest regulation Stanley Cup winning goal ever in 2013 lolyou ever watch Rask in an elimination game?
7M is not the peak of fleury Value anyhow.
he is worth 8-9M and settled to 7M which is kind of a deal for a goaltender as constant as fleury and as good in playoffs as him.
it's also a show of goodwill and trust from the management
