I bet players hang around in their current spot until they see where the chips fall.Forget this cost each team X dollars, how many frequent flyer miles has he collected?

Guessing Vegas cashed in one of the future considerations they got from the HurricanesThe third team had to be higher in the standings as of last year.
Panthers
Bruins
Rangers
Hurricanes
Stars
Jets
Avs
Canucks
"Disruptive Franchise"Freaking love being a fan of the team that wins and creates chaos. It is a fun life.
Yeah this is a solid guess. Avs were missing three wingers the last time a second team claimed Lavoie -- Lehkonen, Landy, and Nuke (plus now Drouin) -- so putting in a claim on Lavoie would have made sense, but then Kahkonen went on waivers this time around and the goalie disaster is a little more dire...and the Avs didn't and don't have the cap room to claim both.My guess is the Avs, when Kahkonen ended up getting waived, they decided to run with 3 goalies instead.
Because they accrue less cap space each day to use at the trade deadline for a top 4D upgrade. As of right now if they ran the current roster for most of the days leading up to the TDL they could add a 4M cap hit or 8M cap hit with 50% retention, and an additional 5.125M in LTIR if Kane isn't expected to play any regular season games.According to PuckPedia the Oilers have over 1M in LTIR relief and a roster spot. Why didn't they just keep him in the pressbox?
This feels like the sort of tomfoolery with a stupid "loophole" that will actually get some potential traction with the NHLPA. The whole purpose of the waivers system is ostensibly to give NHL caliber players an opportunity with another NHL team, if their own organization doesn't have room for them.
What Vegas pulled here, is in pretty blatant circumvention of that process.
Do you have any idea the physical toll 3 waiver claims have on a person
Dude made like an extra 9K being tossed around on waivers. I think he did well...plus he'll be able to avoid state income tax on his AHL salary playing in Henderson.
Why keep him on the nhl roster if he can’t play the game at a nhl level lol. Hope he does well but bet he won’t cut it. Has had 5 training camps to work on his speed/angles/positioning and he hasn’t. Oilers wanted him in the ahl where he belongs. Keeping him on the roster would have been stupid
Not really lolI'm sure he can skate better than a 39 years old Corey Perry lol
3mil? WhatMy question is how Lavoie helps Vegas manipulate the cap? Probably an obscure rule that if you claim a player from a division rival more than once in a season then the NHL reduces your cap by $3Million if you have gold in your jerseys and are in between -114 and -116 longitude.
Don't worry. No one could out whine Flames fans.I expect to see a lot of whining about what happened in this thread. Championship whining. Time to give it a rest. It's done.
LOL... We're not even in your league. Nobody is.Don't worry. No one could out whine Flames fans.
Better go back and celebrate owning the Oilers on Calpuck where every second post is about the Oilers.LOL... We're not even in your league. Nobody is.
sigh, once i thought maybe a mistake, but twice? it's saga, not SegaI was going to mention He made 9000 dollars more because of this Sega.
Many are pointing to the Avs being that extra claim that went away. Avs claimed someone so this ends that Sega.
I don't see malicious intent here.
