Any fit here as trading partners? Will Vegas really be looking to shed some space for Marner are is that just speculation?
Who would Vegas want to get rid of?

Would think that the more salaried players from Vegas would have Chicago on their no-trade list. So I'm not sure there would be a fit.Any fit here as trading partners? Will Vegas really be looking to shed some space for Marner are is that just speculation?

I think they end up trading Hertl. I think it was on Friedman's podcast he mentioned Vegas wasnt happy with his playoff performance.I think Vegas ends up trading William Karlsson, not necessarily to Chicago but somewhere
He has a 10 team NTC, only 2 years left on his deal, cap hit is meh at 5.9 million. Dont think there is a lineup for his services per say, especially if there is an appearance that Vegas really needs to clear cap but i think a team can get him for a 2nd or a 3rd+prospect
I'd be shocked if he decides to go there. This is a defense oriented team where offensive stars go to die. With their 4 lines structure, he might end up playing with Danault and Moore. In what world is Vegas going to be able to pursue Marner? All of their larger contracts have NMC’s/NTC’s. Theoretically they could move Roy and Whitecloud, but they’d have to round out the remaining roster (3 forwards) at league minimum, and that’s just to go 12F-6D-2G. No reserves. The cap juggling throughout the season would be insane.
LA seems like the leading candidate to land Marner. They have the room right now, they have the long-term salary structure to absorb an overpay if they get in a bidding war (Kopi’s 7 gone after this year, Doughty’s 11 the following year). And they’re reeling from falling to the Oilers in the first round again.
I’ll be shocked if Marner isn’t a King July 1st.
hertl at that cap hit would be an annoyingly valuable trade assetI think they end up trading Hertl. I think it was on Friedman's podcast he mentioned Vegas wasnt happy with his playoff performance.
Karlsson has never been a problem for them. In a league where 2C's are in demand, I could see Vegas getting a nice return for pulling the plug early on the Hertl experiment
Stone is still a very effective player. Dorofeyev looked great. Karlsson is a fine 2C especially when youve got Eichel and Roy as your other centers, who are both top 5 at their position (1C and 3C respectively).hertl at that cap hit would be an annoyingly valuable trade asset
if vegas is going big game hunting for a forward i see the forward being brought in to play with Hertl start with first, nothing against karlsson but bringing in a big name forward and asking the forward to carry the line is a bit much
You're forgetting Stone on LTIRat say 11M (thx to the no state tax), I'm not saying that it will be impossible but it's going to be a tough one with the main core full of NMC/NTC/M-NTC with only 9 FWDs signed. That being said, I would highly doubt that it would be Chicago because they are older player and would likely seek teams that in win mode now... Unless Mark Stone is LTIR again.
Main FA: A. Holtz (F/RFA), N. Hague (D/RFA)
Eichel, Jack NMC $10,000,000
Stone, Mark NMC $8,000,000

Karlsson, William M-NTC $5,900,000 (10 no trade list)
Barbashev, Ivan M-NTC $5,000,000 (8 no trade list)
Pietrangelo, Alex NMC $8,800,000
Theodore, Shea NTC $7,425,000
Hanifin, Noah NTC $7,350,000
McNabb, Brayden NTC/M-NTC $6,750,000 (10 teams no trade list on July 1st)
Aadin Hill M-NTC $6,250,000 (10 teams no trade list)

I didnt realize his NTC was that limiting. However I think given he's been there less than a year and a half, things haven't worked out the way both parties hoped, and the demand for 2C's around the league, all of Vegas, Hertl, and another team can work something out that'll end up looking good for all partiesI'm not saying they won't try to trade Hertl but he does have a 3 team trade clause.
Hertl's playoff performance was lackluster, but San Jose is paying retention on him so he's probably not going anywhere.I think they end up trading Hertl. I think it was on Friedman's podcast he mentioned Vegas wasnt happy with his playoff performance.

Would be pretty weird to single Hertl out for one playoff run. Three forwards showed up for Vegas.I think they end up trading Hertl. I think it was on Friedman's podcast he mentioned Vegas wasnt happy with his playoff performance.

They've been looking at an upgrade on Karlsson which is why they got Hertl. He's far from perfect but Hertl just scored 32 goals and would have lead the team in goal scoring if he was healthy.
They will make room by getting rid of players like Karlsson and a couple of others....Marner will be attracted to play there because Vegas is always competitive and he won't have nearly the pressure to be the number one guy on this team as that role belongs to Eichel....the Knights will make this work. How??
