What about Toronto?

I'm actually surprised he didn't want to go to Edmonton... in January, no less.
Pretty sure FS or some professional insider listed Toronto as his destination and then another pro insider narrowed it down to Toronto and 2 other eastern teams..

Do these insiders no feel any shame when they are proven wrong and wrong again?

The guy has 7 hits in 43GP .. I think J.Skinner may be grittier than him. Oilers likely have both Skinner AND Kapanen up in pressbox when Kane returns. No room for Saad this season. I think he becomes an Oiler next year.

The insiders don’t care if they are wrong every time since you always listen to them talk about toronto and give them the views they need.

I am not a professional making money for my speculations.
I guess it's the listeners who need to question their sources and bash them for being wrong.

So with this contract, Saad winds up forfeiting ~$1.05M in salary this season...though with Vegas being a no income tax state, the take home amount is lower. A little bit of playoff money doesn't hurt either. Vegas also gives him a great opportunity to have an extended playoff run which helps him for a contract next year.

He's still walking away from $3.625M in salary next season for now, can still recoup a good chunk of that if things go well the next few months.

He was never walking away from $5M - probably $1.5-$2.0M over the next season and a half when all is said and done with a chance to extend his NHL career longer to offset that loss. Between signing with Vegas this season and being UFA next year, he's also giving himself much better chances of winning another Cup the next couple seasons than he would've had in St. Louis.

Solid decision on his part to walk away from his Blues contract. Yeah, there's still a small chance it blows up on him if he's completely cooked, but I doubt he's feeling that way and the change of scenery will probably do him good.
