I am surprised Lehner was nominated, I figured people would look at Griess' statistics and hold it against Lehner, plus the amount of games he played seems low
My thoughts exactly.

Ottawa got rid of both these goalies for practically nada.
What goalies/fanbases were that? I'm pretty sure only Darcy Kuemper had a .920%+ save percentage and played in more games than any of the three finalists. In this thread, fans of teams with a goalie who had a .920 sv%.... but played in 10 more games than the three finalists, have a conniption.
Bishop over Lehner do to games played. Vasi was good but on a stacked team and folded like a folding table in the playoffs
LOL I love Trotz ofcourse but I'm pretty sure players need to execute. Its ridiculous. Lehner is good but hes clearly a product of Trotz and the team defense, as evidenced by his backups numbers.
Bishop over Lehner but close. Vasi was good but on a stacked team and folded like a folding table in the playoffs
I agree that people believe this, I'm not one of them, though.Vasilevskiy is in the top 5 goalies, he is elite level.
Dont think Val should win it. He had a stacked regular season team in front of him.
Not sure if this is true. Bishop came on real strong late and propelled his team to the playoffs while surpassing Lehner statistically. Lehner came up real clutch late to secure the Islanders home ice advantage rd one. Before the playoffs started, Vasi was a no brainer. If they voted right after the season ended, than Vasilevsky takes it easiley. In people's minds you are as good as your last games were.
I see him play against the Leafs, he has an elite skillset and makes spectacular saves on top of being flat out good.I agree that people believe this, I'm not one of them, though.
