If I was a savvy on-line sports better (which I'm not), the Canucks would be one of my 'sleeper picks' for the coming season.
When you break down their roster--a lot of promising elements are already in place. They have two 80-100 point centers; a guy on their blueline who'll get some serious Norris consideration; and a goalie who's proven that when he's on his game, he's one of the NHL's best.
Clearly this team can score; and their PP has consistently been in top half of the league. And their PK can't possible be 32nd and dead last for another season, can it?
Breaking down the rest of the roster, they have three scoring lines; and have clearly strengthened their blueline, although it remains to be seen if it's deep enough.
So I joined with the majority and voted 'wildcard team' for the coming season.
