Prospect Info: Vegas Golden Knights Prospect/Henderson Silver Knights AHL Thread II

Marcus Kallionkieli with his first pro goal...Than he dissapeared all the other games? Is he injured? He needs to have ice-time if they want to devellop him, especially when he played only 25 games last year...

They don't update on injuries, so we can only speculate that the immortal Reid Duke's return forced Kalli out of the lineup. At least Jones isn't stuck on the 4th line anymore.

They should have just assigned Kallionkieli to the Wheat Kings.

Dory didn't play either, but he was healthy enough to get the shootout winner.
 
Dugan got a goal. Viveiros apparently told him he needed to shoot more. Down 2-1 to Bakersfield.

LOL You can always hear the radio play by play guy talk to the guy who edits the clips during intermission. They were having their normal conversations when the editor guy goes, "Ugh. Bakersfield. Awful, awful place. I hope your not from there." The play by play guy, "I am not."

Krebs end his final WHL regular season tied for first in scoring alongside 15yo Bedard at 28 points in 15 games. Probably won't win any award.

Korczak's team has been in Covid protocol since game 2, which sucks because he was lights out for Henderson.

For selfish reasons I wouldn't mind the WHL season wrapping up at the end of April to get Korczak & Krebs back on HSK.
 
Did they change the jersey numbers? They used to be gold right? They're white now. On the home silver jerseys of course.
 
Glass with a good move to get by Soderstrom in overtime and a nice pass for a goal. The shot was blocked and moon balled into the net in a fortunate bounce.
 
Glass has elite passing abilities. This kid needs to get his confidence up in addition to gaining speed in the offseason.

If he can't get much faster, then he can't play C anymore. Having said that, I want to see him centering Janmark and Tuch for a few games at the end of the season.


Side note: Henderson is worse at giving the kids a chance to play than the Wolves, and that's saying a lot. I just don't know what McCrimmon is thinking between Glass on the taxi squad, Kallionkieli barely playing and kids moving up and down from the 1st line to the 4th all the time. It's not like they have a full 70 game AHL season + playoffs this year.

The team has several forward prospects they need to roll through, they also need the AHL veterans on the ice to give the prospects the right structure to play within. Glass is now also taking ice time on the team.

Yeah, the constant line shuffling is bothersome.

As for the amount of players, wouldn't have said no to have some picks replaced by prospects in that Janmark trade. Pipeline getting clogged up quickly, making certain players suffer.

I will say, Toronto Marlies for example sometimes have prospects skip games in favor of working on their body, so if that's why prospects are out of the lineup at times, I can get behind that, to a degree.

For all the praise Keefe and the Marlies get, they haven't really developed too many prospects aside from their blue chip kids.

Been a while since a blue chip kid went from Marlies to Leafs, right? The way Toronto operates regarding their prospects reminds me a little of Vegas.

Andreas Johnsson, Carl Grundström, & Pierre Engvall all aren't blue chip but have paved their way to the NHL through the Marlies, has Leafs integrated a blue chip prospect(through the Marlies) into their lineup during their time period? Last one was Nylander, right?
 
This season also had the WHL kids (for a few months) and all the OHL kids to fit into the roster/get ice time. (And signs are pointing to OHL cancelling season.)

And with COVID issues, you really didn't want to send your extra kids to the ECHL for them to get ice time there.

(Not to mention you needed 4-6 extras just to stock taxi squad)
