They're a bunch bandwagon fans....
What makes a fan a real fan?

They literally didn't have a team last year, do you think they can never have real fans because they were an expansion team? Can you only be a real fan if you were born after 2017? What's your arbitrary criteria?

They're creating a fan base in their first year by playing above what anyone thought they would, what's wrong with that?

Nope. I don't like to be harsh but I think a team should pay its dues before becoming good.

If you posted this when the playoffs started, you'd probably have a different response. Now that VGK is winning, it's hip to hate Vegas around these parts. And that's ok with me because it means we are winning.

Yeah, the timing is only going to turn this into another Vegas bashing thread. My favorite was the person who said our fans didn't know what the Stanley Cup was a year ago.

No former Jets on the team, so I couldn't care less about them.

But what about native sons Cody Eakin and Ryan Reaves??

You do realize that most of us that have been around long enough to know better, look at that photo and see the Quebec Nordiques, right?

Trust me, that team/franchise paid the price to get to the level of Stanley Cup Champion. Nobody was happy for the new "Colorado fans", and most people felt extremely sorry for the longstanding "Quebec fans". It must have been a bitter-sweet victory for the loyalists that continued to follow them after they were relocated.

I cheered for them in each of the first 2 rounds, but they are my 5th choice of the remaining 5 teams.

I would respectfully disagree. Tell the guy who's spent thousands in season tickets for 10 years as his team goes through a rebuilding stage until they're finally a contender that the "fans" don't deserve anything.

I think any player in the league would tell you the same.

I think it's a crazy awesome story. Of course it's tough to swallow for some fanbases (everyone is a bit jealous), but it's great nonetheless. I just wish we didn't lose Engeleenxde3heygnsetgend (however you spell his last name lol).

I've got nothing against them but they are not my team. Good luck and all and I will watch when I can but I just want to see good games since my team is out. Usually there ends up being a team I don't like so there is still a chance they can earn that from me hahaha.

I said no. However, I think people are being a little ridiculous with the Vegas hate. I've actually enjoyed seeing them succeed

I have a long history of supporting the under dog - it's in my blood. I'll get behind the Rodney Dangerfield's of sport any chance I can.

Don't care if Vegas wins a cup before my Sabres either because there is no Royal Order of Waiting your 'Effing Turn.

Vegas has been my 2nd team all year long the moment I picked up Wild Bill early in the fantasy season and even more so when I grabbed Subban for a spell. Grabbing Haula to replace an injury mid-season sealed the deal.

Iceland II the hotter crappier version.
I love this notion that you have to suffer to be worthy of your team winning the Stanley cup... I imagine based on that there are a whole lot of fans who sit at the arena during the last game of the Stanley Cup finals and scream at the children “don’t you dear celebrate this win.... you haven’t suffered like I have!”

While Vegas fans haven’t suffered the losing, they have suffered utter contempt from other fans, Vegas is in the desert they have no fans... oh the building is only full because they’re winning (as if that wouldn’t apply to 90% of teams), Vegas fans no nothing about hockey, your team is only winning because in hindsight we decided the expansion draft gave you a contender, don’t forget the refs are making sure you win but don’t sweat it you’re team will be gone in 10 years.

A lot of fans have been welcoming to the new fans a team in Vegas has attracted but far too many seem personally offended that people in the desert like or want to get into hockey. Did sand kill your grandma or something?
