I think they are - and they've shown us they know how to win games.

IMO, the major challenge for this group is staying on plan and playing the right way -
There's been some discussion on this board about the learning curve involved in playing that way - and some of the players have also brought it up.
It will come down to where they are on that curve - but there is no doubt they are further ahead than they were and can beat anyone.

The analyst have also chimed in on this topic - and most have stated the Jets build is probably their major strength.
I'd agree with that but I'm still watching to confirm if they have finally shaken that tendency to slip off plan and struggle to get back on - but I'm more hopeful.
Interesting that you think they are. I agree if they play in structure. It is a long season. I guess looking ahead to the playoffs is premature but I feel given their record they should be but don't look now because Minni is tied with them!

please stop trying to pass your negativity off as realism, you been predicting losses all year long and when we finally have a tough stretch you try and say told you so, you act as if every loss is because the other team decided to play playoff hockey and I guess all our wins are just luck that they didn't?

like take florida home and home for example they were the faster team and beat us you called us frauds and a bubble team, saying we couldn't handle a playoff style game then we get 2 days rest and were able to skate with them and outplayed the very next game...

we played well enough to beat vegas with our top 2 centers playing hurt, ehlers missing half the game, samberg out coghlan playing his 1st game of the season, logan stanley coming back off an injury as well as using our back up goalie on what is essentially game 9 of a 13 game road trip, this is a good team in a very tough stretch
I am sooooooo thankful for the ignore feature. Still haven't found a limit yet 🤣

Have you watched Trouba lately? He's barely an NHL player at this point. As for Pionk, the guy plays like a bigger d, he's our #2 d by a mile. I do agree however, that we've gotten rather small over the last couple years. Haydn Fleury has been a good acquisition, Coghlan might be another one. Both guys bring size, so their are options other than Stanley who I agree, has not been great.
Yes I’ve watched a few Rangers games recently and Trouba is not the guy who got 50 pts in a Jets jersey, and is not worth his salary or cap hit, but a salary retained Trouba does interest me. It’s for only one more year after this one if you want to move on from him but that physical play would be a psychological boost for the group too.

Pionk’s lack of mobility will continue to hurt the team as the play picks up in the second half of the season.

The Jets have to move on from Stanley. Three more minor penalties today and he is a huge liability against better competition.

Agreed. Stylistically, is there a better fit for what the Jets need than Trouba? Physicality, size, grit and PK ability. There is also familiarity of having played with and produced excellent results with Morrissey. I am not saying Jets HAVE to get him but if the trade market keeps looking as barren as it does right now you'd have to atleast consider Trouba. He's not worth it at his current contract but maybe becomes an attractive option at 5.5 million. Rangers are incentivized to retain too.

Additionally, acquiring him wouldn't cost you any real assets. Yes some fans are upset with him but his departure didn't leave as much of a bad taste in people's mouth as PLDs so I think fans will forgive and forget fast if he waives his NTC.
