It's a two way street, though, at least where it pertains to vegans.
Sure, they get a bad rap from meat eaters, but there's also a ton of vitriol from their side towards the rest of us, about how we're all "murderers" for eating meat, or how we're "killing the planet", yadda yadda yadda.
Such antics don't help the situation, but rather make things worse for all.
Well if you don't want people to say such mean, hurtful things to you, then stop killing living things for your own pleasure and contributing the leading cause of deforestation world wide

At no point did I say anything even remotely close to "they hurt my feelings".
Frankly I could care less what a vegan thinks of my normal diet.
I just find their rage to be amusing, that's all.

If I was, for example, ordering a hot dog/Italian sausage at a street vendor, and some vegan runs up with a megaphone, barking in my ear about what a baddie I am, then yes in that moment I would care.
You are correct.
EDIT: To be clear, when I say "I would care", I don't mean to say I would discard the delicious meal I had just purchased, or change my diet in any way. I would only care because of the annoyance it brought to my day, and that I would do my best to ignore the unwelcome intrusion.
