Varlamov Man Crush Thread

It's easy to feel great about it now with how good Varly is. Even if Washington ended up stealing somebody at the draft and turning him into a great roster player it would still make me very happy with the deal, but I admittldy felt very upset about this trade the day it happened.

Vokoun openly said he wanted to play with a team "like Colorado" meaning we probably had a good shot at him for free. Vokoun was one of the most consistent goalies in the league at the time and when we ended up trading a 1st and a 2nd for a guy who I thought was a worse goalie than Vokoun who we could have for free left me very very upset. Things have certainly changed from that day!

It was still a great trade for the Caps. They got a first-rounder from a team that picked second overall something like a week earlier. That plus another high-round pick is very good return for someone who was not in their future plans and it didn't create a hole in the roster.

Well it looks like they are currently lacking a proper number 1 goalie so I wouldn't say they are without their holes.

He went on the ice with the injury... so it is pretty minor. If it was a bad sprain or break, he wouldn't have even gone on the ice for a training session. This is nothing to worry about.

You know as well as we do that amputation is obviously going to happen. No way around it.

Season over

Anyone know how long the camp is. If it's just a few days I could understand him leaving despite the injury not being very severe.
But if it's longer then that could indicate a bit more serious injury.

Hanifin will look good in an Avs uni. :yo:

He was walking in the picture, so again nothing to worry about nearly 3 months before the season starts.

Short... only like a week or 10 days.

Here is the end date.

@cherylcbradley @NickMar11 It's a 1 week camp and will be over on Friday or Saturday

@NickMar11 @cherylcbradley Camp is over on Friday. I'm not there myself but have a friend who keeps me updated on Varly's status.

Makes total sense not to risk it.
