I know the Leafs had interest a few years ago in the Lafferty trade but nowadays I’m not sure what other positives he has besides his size

One positive lately is that Desharnais has started looking like a competent NHL defenseman since he got back into the lineup.

small sample size and the next game he'll revert back to his old slow self. slow decisionmaking.
