Canucks fan here, what in the world did you guys do to transform PLD into trying because he’s probably the best player on the ice in that first period.

He looks completely engaged, not from what I’ve seen in the past
I forget what podcast I heard it on but someone pointed out that he had Tortorella, Maurice, Bowness, and McLellan as coaches in all his prior stops. Obviously all great coaches but all definitely hard-asses and Carbery is the first real "player's coach" he's had. I think it's some combination of that + natural maturing + a wake-up call after how awful last year was.

Been IMO their best player for the last two months now

I think the key has been the Caps coaching staff like his overall game and aren’t putting the world on his shoulders to just score.
